A friend of mine built two of these hoods. We installed number one on my car yesterday. I can't decide if I like it or not ???
I would appreciate your comments, and don't worry, I have thick skin if you don't like it.
Funny, I was just working with a friend on one of his Vettes, a '72 454. I was thinking that some version of the hood might look cool on the C6. I agree with some others that maybe the red is a bit much...maybe Cyber Gray would be a bit more subtle and very cool. Just a thought as it looks good as is.
The red matches the Z06 calipers, then another idea was to put some Ron Fellows type "eyebrows" on the front fenders. Just another thought.
But, I am leaning to all black. The underside of the hood is just as slick as the top. Thinking of a picture of Jake, there.
The styling is nice but the first thing I thought when I looked at the pictures of the hood was that it would look nice in solid black. As I looked down the list at the other comments it seems most think the same thing. The red seems out of place and looks like something a teenager would do. BUT, you should do what makes you happy! It's *YOUR* car!
It looks well-made and the red compliments your brake calipers but for some reason the 'bulge' seems to stickout like a sore thumb. Painting it black with red pin-stripe accents would tone it down a bit. I'm not a big fan of stripes but did you ever think about bringing the red all the way down the hood and integrating the 'bulge' into a hood stripe? It wouldn't seem so 'isolated.'
