Did anyone see the Z06 vert auctioned off for charity. I believe it was a 07. What did you think of the 47k winning bid. I thought was a great price. I did not care for the mural on the hood.
I thought they said it was a regular Convertible with the addition of the Z06 engine and suspension. Said it was rated at 425 horsepower. I didn't understand the skull graphics only on the hood and no where else?
Anyways, it was a generous donation for a good cause and it fetched a pretty good price. The paint and the chrome wheels looked outstanding!
I didn't see that Corvette or much of the Barrett-Jackson auction from LA andI was disappointed in what little I did see of it. There were some neat cars but overall I thought the caliber of cars wasn't that great. IMO Barrett-Jackson is becoming over-saturated with its 4 auctions...it didn't seem 'special' anymore. IMO the Barrett-Jackson LA event was a big yawn!
It was a 07 vert with wide body kit with Z06 brakes and two tone tan & black seats, not complete 2 tone interior. Looked like CCW chrome wheels and had a Z06 emblems.
The tv commentators were horrible or just good salesmen on this show. They portrayed this vert as a custom built Z06 vert because the owner builder wanted a Z06 convertible and he did it by building this Z06 car, very misleading in my opinion.
I like watching the Mecum auctions, the commentators seem to know more about the cars offered, the Barrett Jackson guys made a lot of mistakes on the cars this auction.
I like to DVR these shows and watch them at high speed and just slow down on the cars I like. A 4 hour show takes me 1 hour to view.

I was there yesterday and saw it up close. It was in fact a LS2 Vert; '07 I believe. I talked with the guy that was in charge of that car as he was detailing it but I didn't have the heart to ask him "why" they put Z06 badges on it.
I was there on Saturday too, and saw the car, and it was not a Z06, but rather a modified vert. It did look nice, and as a charity auctioned car, it served a great service to the chosen charity!

I watched portions of the B-J auction as well as the Mecum one in St Charles as I attended Bloomington Gold last weekend. Prices seemed to be down at both, and I agree with an earlier post that there is getting to be saturation of B-J and probably auctions in general. There are errors in description at both venues-some from the material provided by the owner and some by the auction announcers assuming they know more than they do.
I was bidding on the Vette at Barrett-Jackson and it was in fact an 07 vert, with a widebody conversion. I am not aware of the suspension/brakes being Z06, I think it was a Z51 car with aftermarket brakes and rims. WCC was very generous and donated the rims, lets hear for a forum vendor. The car was beautiful but nothing super special, besides where the proceeds from the sale went.

They waste a lot of time... I just want the see the final price on a few...Spent the Other 3 hours Washing & driving the Vette...
Prices in general were down. I bet there were some unhappy sellers. If prices remain low they (Barrett-Jackson) might have trouble with the no reserve policy.

They have some nice cars, but I don't like the interruptions from commericials, charity cars, and the game playing with "guess the value." I enjoy Mecum much more.
