High oil temps ?

Default High oil temps ?
Have a 08 Z51 manual. Went cruising up to Lake Lure.. Lots of nice winding mountain roads. It was hot out and had the AC on the whole time. Was seeing 232 degree oil temps during some "moderate" driving.
Seemed kinda high considering there is an oil cooler ?

What do others see without an oil cooler?

Not too concerned as the oil is good to 260 or so..

Without the cooler I'm seeing temps between 238 - 248. Oil cooler coming very soon in order to bring down temps on my 455ci.

The oil is good to alot more than 260. Those temps are fine...don't be concerned.

230 was tops but usually it's below 220.

The oil temp will turn on the radiator fan to Max if the oil gets hot enough, but it takes 302' to do that.

You get the Hot Oil warning at 320'.

With no cooler, I sometimes see 225' on the Interstate on a hot day.

I havea Z51 in Southern California and typically see 205 while cruising on the highway. May get as high as 215 when cruising on hot days.

The last time I was cruising in Lake Lure I saw about 225 degrees on oil temps. No cooler. That was on #9 towards Black Mountain.
