I am wondering if this happens to other Vette drivers or if it's a 'local' problem around Northern New England. However quite often I find that people driving behind me when doing nothing other than minding my own business while cruising down the highway, will exhibit a lot of harassing, aggressive behavior; tail-gating, running up fast on me then backing off only to run right back up on me as if they are going to hit me, swerving around at me, you name it. It's not every time I go out in the Vette, but it's far too often and I really don't like it. And it's not limited to male drivers! I had a female in an SUV after me today. What is wrong with these nut cases?
My buddy who had an 07 Z06 said the same crap happened to him all the time and it has been like this with all Vettes I have owned, 68,80,04,07 and the new 2010 GS.
Anyone else seeing this kind of activity while out in the Vette?
Yep, see a lot of the same behaviour myself when driving the vette. When I drive the F250 though it's like I'm in stealth mode so it's definetly the vette that brings out the strangeness out there.

I will say that my new Blade Silver GS gets half the attention or less than my Velocity Yellow C6 coupe or the previous Torch Red C5 coupe. Those colors were like a red flag to a bull. I suppose it goes to mental ability of those who go nuts over a vette; they are in line with a dumb bull.
The silver was a good choice to me; I am so sick of these jerks on the road.
Not just a New England problem. I am in Wisconsin and about 10% of the other traffic on the roadways want to try and race, tail gate, pass and then slow down, and anything else they can think of to **** you off.
I have never experienced any of that. Are you driving slower then the flow of traffic?
I can assure your that I don't drive slower than the other traffic! It really doesn't matter if I am at the speed limit, above the limit, on a back road, the interstate, wherever; it's just out there in this area.
Had a chick in a small something, no idea what the car was.... one of the new micro cars from Ford or Kia who was really giving me the non-sense on a two lane 55 mph highway the other night. Her headlights right in my mirror, swerving around side to side, backing off then running up on me fast. I just pulled onto the breakdown lane and got her in front of me then put the super brights on her. She didn't seem to appreciate it.
From: Stafford VA, home of our wolf den. No house break ins to date.
The opposite here for me....in N.VA and Mid area VA... in fact, I have commented several times to my wife how refreshing it is that people give a lot of space when behind this car.. even when stopping... way more than any previous perf car I have had in many years.. including our 97 Comp TA (very rare), 97 Firehawk, 2005 GTO........and 2008 Solstice GXP. I love the respect this car gets.

I purposely stop short at stop lights so after some idiot literally stops within an inch of my rear bumper, I can move up to create some space between us. The real jerks of course will pull up to close the gap and try to annoy you...? When possible, the best way to handle this kind of behavior is to keep your cool and try to ignore them. If you react and somehow show them that you are annoyed, you sometimes encourage them and they win.
Everybody round here just smiles and waves as I go by. They just love Corvette owners... quite often the ladies bare all and just beg me to take them with me.
I get my days like that here in North Cuba, I mean South Florida.....
I get it worse on my bike though, it's like I have a target painted on me on that thing.
Anyone wanna buy a 2005 Gixxer 1000
Notice the tailgating and "pushing" even when I can't go fasster because of traffic. Pickups and big SUV's are the worse offenders. Especially in heavy Tampa Bay area traffic they love to get agressive.
Usually they don't like to travel the speeds I run so there are hardly ever people on my bumper!!
A lot of the time though when someone looks close behind you at a light they are not as close as they seem.
There have been several times I was sure the guy behind me was within inches of my rear end, only to activate the rear parking sensors and have them not go off. They are set to start activating when within 18" so I know he was further back than that.

Don't block traffic in the left lane on the highways and this shouldn't happen....not saying you are, I just can't think of any other reason for people to tail you.

Huh?? Who said anything about doing the Massachusetts left lane hog? I am talking about driving in any lane, on any road, back roads, two lane roads, you name it. "minding one's own business".
I think it brings out the worst in other drivers. I've had people cut me off several times (as in oncoming car takes a left right in front of me), tailgaters, cars/pickups race up through traffic to get behind me (come on folks, it's a Corvette not some $1/2million exotic). My favorite is when people purposely 'drift' slowly over the line onto your lane just to see your reaction.
I actualy agree with the guys that say they get more respect in the vettes. People stop further behind me and i love all the looks i get. Im a young guy 27 so i love to cruise it and see people do double takes since i guess its not to common for a young guy here to cruise a vette. The only proble is all the little euros trying to race me till they get tired and "take off" stepping on it with their menacing 190 hp
Here in Dallas I get a lot of people, especially older people in their Camrys and pickups, that speed up if I am in the left lane. They either match my speed or zoom ahead, only to slow down a half mile up, then repeat the whole process. I just maintain my speed - most of the time
