I have other GM vehicles that have a small red light that shines on the console.
Does anyone know of an after market light similar to this for a 08 C6 Vert?
The car still has the plug in there all I did was get the light and wire from GM and put it in. Just order for a 2007 and down seems like it was only 6.00
Call Gene Culley (GM Parts House) and order the visor clip with the light in it and short harness.
The windshield header trim area is easy to access by removing both visor clips, then just find the connector and plug it in.
Gene Culley?
GM Parts House?
Do you have any contact information?
And thanks for the info.
It's good to know I can still put the used to be factory light back in.
A lot better than hanging some small light on my mirror.

Found the GM Parts House, overlooked it the first time.
Thanks
I had the ambient light in my previous 2006, and 2008 C6 built in October of 2007, my current 2010 GS does not have it and I miss it.
I may be interested in adding it too. My Infiniti has a blue ambient light that shines brightly and looks great!
I'm a little embarrassed to say this, especially since I'm the one that started this thread.
After I had ordered this from Gene at the GM Partshouse.
I was explaining to a friend one night where the little red light would mount on the passenger sun visor.
As I pointed to where it would mount a little red dot appeared on my hand.
Yep, it was already there, but was so dim it wasn't even noticeable. After I received the one I ordered I went to a local electronics store, and purchased three LED bulbs.
I went with the blue, (for now) I have a green, and a brighter red. You can buy these LED bulbs in any color, or brightness you want, and whatever degree of angle, from shot, to wide angle.
They are two to three dollars each, and they plug into the existing connection, if you have one.
I have the light in my 2005 but am interested in replacing it with something a little brighter. Can you please post a picture of what the LED looks like (when not already installed) and perhaps a model number so I know what to look for? Also, where did you find them (name of retailer)? Thanks.

The little LED bulb is available at most any electronics store, like Radio Shack. I purchased mine at a local store. They have a board, that you push a button and see what it looks like. This is my first dealing with LED's, but I intend to learn more. The green bulb I purchased is so bright it lights up the whole interior, and like the red that was already installed didn't lite anything. Except your hand when you put it six inches from it.
Hope this helps, if you have any more questions let me know and i'll try to help.
It's pretty subtle, not too surprised you missed it at first.
You could install your new visor clip/light on the driver's side and tie it into the harness if you want even more 'ambiance'.
I was trying to figure that out. I need to change the angle of the fixture the LED mounts into. Plus even if I can do that, I would have to move my radar detector. It's mounted on my drivers side visor mount. But really with the brighter blue bulb I have in now, it's plenty of light. It's almost to much. I'm going to continue to experiment with different colors, and brightness.
