run flat help
I live four miles outside a city of but 9,000. I need RFT/EMT tires, many of us do.
Do not install same size rims on all four wheels. The car is designed to have 19 and 18 inch wheels. Some people have done this but they may be "advanced" car nuts or racers.
Run flats are very reliable. My son ran over metal clips that shreaded part of the run flat and made it home w/o any problem. I have had an employee place nails/screws under my run flats and I backed over them and drove for many miles untill I plugged the nail/screw intrusion or replaced the tire.
38xx miles on your tires - unless you have money to burn - I would not replace. Go to a certified Goodyear dealer and have it patched.
If you do want new tires then you must have enough money to buy Michelin replacements
You could purchase a set of four wheels and four new tires and then you would have two sets. But that will cost you some bucks for little reason to do so.

no spare, jack or wrench= runflats. We put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ZP tires on our '02. Performance, handling much better than G.Y.'s with no noise. Excellent rim protectors and 45,000 mile warranty. Out the door with alignment $1,127.00. These will go on our '09 when it needs tires. Very satisfied.

Is OP upset about runflats or the fact that there are different sizes front and back?
I assume the runflat with the nail in it still got him home safely.
Running the same size rims front and back isn't going to solve his problem regardless of runflats or non-runflats.
There will still be a different size tire on the back (taller/wider) than the front to maintain handling and keep AH from intervening.
And where in the car is he going to put the spare?
