On my 2011 GS, I wanted to tint the windows. Two installers said there would be a space at the bottom of the window because the windows go down part way. The dealer said the door wouldn't close and bind at the top if you disable the window when in the up position. Any body have a good sugestion?

find a different installer. i had my 2010 GS done and the whole window is covered. no gaps or spaces.
Most tint jobs I've seen on the C6 (including mine) leave maybe an 1/8" space along the top edge of the window to allow it to index up, however, there's no gap in the tint film along the bottom of the window.
Open the door. Close the door catch in the jamb manually. The window will now go back up to its full upright position. Tint it. Pull the manual door handle on the floor to unlatch and return the window to index mode.

That is how you avoid the gap... Not really hard...
If this installer has a problem with the side windows, he's really going to mess up the rear hatch glass tint, it he can do it at all.
FIND ANOTHER INSTALLER, one who already knows Vettes. Don't let this one experiment with and practice on your car. You're paying him to know what to do, not learn what to do.
Find a different installer. No problems with any of the windows on my car. The back window is (1) one piece with no gaps or loose areas. A good installer can do it correctly.

I have had many cars done at a shop here in orlando that offers a lifetime warranty on their product and service. I have only had to use it once, and it wasnt due to their work.....but they still replaced the tint anyway. PM me if you are interested in a recommendation. Its a bit of a drive over here, but they have done plenty of c6 vettes with favorable results.

+1 Window tint is an art. The guy who did my WS6 did a PERFECT job, first try, 1-piece back window, etc. etc.
It had narry a bubble for 3 years (until I sold it).
He had been tinting for about 4-5 years.
The girl who did my G20 had been tinting for 16+ years. The G20 is INFINITELY easier to tint than the back glass on an F-body. My F-body looked 100X better.
Find someone who knows what they are doing, and experience and time in business are only rough indicators.
