Ordered set of C6 spyders DEC09 on sale at WCC -mounted MAY10 w new Mitchelin AS+ZP -vibration strongly evident -back to original installer x 3 for balance w no resolution -to second shop for Hunter Roadforce balance -no improvement & advised need hub centric rings -research indicates these are hub centric wheels -have tires removed from wheels & wheels evaluated by third shop w Hunter Roadforce & advised one rear wheel w lateral runout in excess of GM specs -send computer printouts to WCC & they advise will send replacement wheel -days go by w no replacement -contact again & advised they are out of Spyder wheels & they will need to charge for replacement & then receive out of round wheel for evaluation but also need paperwork on when wheels were installed. What would you do at this point? What seems to be coming is 1)waited too long to install wheels 2)damaged during shipping 3)damaged w installation 4)damaged after mounting. There is no cosmetic damage to these wheels which would think necessary to cause damage after leaving WCC. Time to get lawyer involved?
What would I do? I'd make sure you have all your documentation, and I do mean all, incl. emails. WCC to my knowledge is a vendor on here; that may be a route you take (all correspondence and docs to a moderator, privately). But that's down the road.
Keep on top of it daily with WCC. They are supposedly a good vendor.
This may pertain and may not. I had similar problem with vibration with LG World Challenge wheels. Turned out that we added some thick tape around the cars hub and the vibration cleared. My installers too wanted to use the spigot rings but wanted to drill the wheel first to allow enough room for centering ring. I have 1mm play so the tape trick worked.
Ok, it took me a minute or five to sort this out (the first sentence is the longest sentence I've ever read!).
It looks like WCC is doing what I would expect them to do. They are saying they will replace the wheel if they find it is damaged - right? But you are already assuming you'll have a problem with them.
I'm not understanding why you would even be thinking lawyer yet - WCC has not even seen the wheels or had a chance to replace them, right?
I actually did have a similar situation several years ago. What I had to sort out was whether the tires or the wheels were the problem. I had mail ordered the tires. Turns out my problem was the tires, and the only way I could figure that out was to have a local shop put different tires on it. That fixed the problem and I then had to get authorization to return the tires. The seller of the tires didn't like that answer because they were never involved in diagnosing the issue, but they were (and still are) a reputable company and they agreed to take the tires back.
Long story short, WCC is reputable to the best of my knowledge, so give them a chance. Also, don't just assume it's the wheels. While it probably is, it could be something else.
maybe i'm not understanding something. if these are hub centric wheels, why do you need rings? are the wheels not fitting the hub correctly? if so, has WCC said the wheels need rings?
and to go to Jim's post, has any shop just spun the wheels alone with no tires to see if it will balance with weights? if it does, but it won't with tires on them, then something is wrong, obviously.
Hello guys,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with the wheels. I'm not directy involved so please forgive me if I'm missing the details, however, I do want to help. Please PM me your order information and I will get the correct people contacted and try to speed this up.
It was a bad wheel right from the start, you did your part to have them rebalanced with still no luck, the company should replace your wheel and pay for all costs including all the failed balancing.
It wouldn't be the first time a company sent out a wheel bent, hoping it would slide by or balance out.

Wheels & hubs have less than 1 mm difference -these are new hub centric wheels. Will keep tape in mind. Thanks for your response.

Thank you & will PM info -not trying to go to the front of the line but, just trying to get fair resolution.

You sir, immediately figured out the problem. Thank you!
I've bought a fair amount of different items from WCC including my Z06 946 wheels which have been perfect for years and when I've needed assistance they have been on the ball. I will say "mentioning" the word attorney can quickly turn off the help line with any vendor. Eyes and ears are on this and I have every bit of confidence WCC will properly handle this.

Have also purchased a "fair amount" of merchandise from WCC & have not had a problem until now. Hope your confidence is well placed & WCC "properly handle this". Thanks for your concern & response.
