Driving southbound Garden State Parkway express lanes today and saw a C6 VY vert being pulled onto a flatbed in the local lanes. Got me wondering. Where do you attach the tow hook? Looked in the manual when I got home and found nothing except the advice to have it flat bedded. Is there a hook under the front of the car and what happens to the air dam?
There are no toe hooks. I believe that the towing company is supposed to use the shipping slots in the frame to attach their own hooks. Don't know about damage to the center air dam or side valance pieces.

Well, now that I've said that I decided to check my '08 service manual. On page 3-167, under "Front Tow Hook Replacement". it outlines the procedure for removing and then re-installing the two front tow hooks. The accompanying illustration shows two front tow hooks welded to the underside of the front bumper impact bar. Likewise, it shows two tow hooks welded to the underside of the rear bumber impact bar. Went out to the garage and crawled under my car and I'm darned if I can see them.
The Service Manual is usually correct, but not always.
I think European C6's have a removable hook that mounts somewhere in the front of the grill area.
I believe that is probably the case here; that section may well apply only to export cars. I ran across a section in the manual a few weeks ago having to do with headlight washers. Ran right out to my car looking for my headlight washers. Of course, there aren't any on the U.S. cars. The manual, however, does not state anywhere that I can see that some of these features are only present on the export cars.

You're correct, the tow truck/flatbed operator most always connects into the oval frame slots to winch the car onto the flatbed and to secure the car for transport. When being winched onto a flatbed the problem is scraping the front diffuser. Most tow trucks carry boards to use as a ramp. If you ever need to be towed mention they need to have some lumber.
