Frenchican's hood is the same Carravaggio one a Johns. It's got the vents from Carravaggio. All I'm proposing is adding my own similar vents. You guys have no faith in my fab work...
That's the one!! FYI I was at Carlisle last week and dropped by the Carvaggio booth - John was there and we talked about cutting vents into an OEM hood. He advised that the material does not take well to such mods and the edges will sag around the cut.
The idea of trying this on a scrap hood makes a lot of sense - does not even have to be a C6 hood - a C5 hood would do just as well....

There was a post sometime back where someone put on the side vents from a late model escalade on his C6. It kind of gave the hood an Aston Martin look. I am not sure if the Escalade vents are functional or not but it did look tasteful on the Vette. The only thing I can remember about the Vette is it was a red one.
For starters remove the underhood insulation. They call it the "mat" now but that sort of thing used to be called insulation. It's there to mute engine noise. I 'spose it just might raise underhood temp a bit?
And your fuel rail covers.Don't see many with those still on coming out of Kateck's garage.
