Do a search for the member "Frenchican" and you will see his avatar pic - a silver C6 with hood vents....

I don't know how to copy it, so I could not paste it here..

Frenchican's hood is the same Carravaggio one a Johns. It's got the vents from Carravaggio. All I'm proposing is adding my own similar vents. You guys have no faith in my fab work...

Well I went to Pep Boys and bought everything they had in their accessory aisle. I think I'm done.

That's the one!! FYI I was at Carlisle last week and dropped by the Carvaggio booth - John was there and we talked about cutting vents into an OEM hood. He advised that the material does not take well to such mods and the edges will sag around the cut.

The idea of trying this on a scrap hood makes a lot of sense - does not even have to be a C6 hood - a C5 hood would do just as well....

Kinda reminds me of the 88 Camaro Iroc I used to have but those hood louvers were fake and blew off at high speeds.

Do you ever drive your car in the rain? Vent over the battery / electrical connections, can not be a good thing......

Doesn't look that bad.
Good point on water intruision over the battery.
Double stick tape or weatherstripe between the vent and the hood?

There was a post sometime back where someone put on the side vents from a late model escalade on his C6. It kind of gave the hood an Aston Martin look. I am not sure if the Escalade vents are functional or not but it did look tasteful on the Vette. The only thing I can remember about the Vette is it was a red one.

Found it. Can't say I dig it although it looks very professional/OEMish. I think it's the chrome that I dont like.

vents are a great idea, just not the ones you took pictures of. I agree with buying a used hood to test them on.
