I bought a replacement battery today and need to install it. Does anyone know if the batteries need venting? (It's an AC Delco, identical to the one I took out). I think not, since there was no venting tube attached. The dealership was less than helpful (purposely vague... as if they didn't know if venting was required).

As you stated, if it doesn't have a hose, it shouldn't need venting. Plus most vehicle batteries now a days don't need venting. They are designed to be maintenance free. Try not to laugh, but...yeah.
My cars a ZO-6 with a rear mounted Delco 90-6YR. It has a vent tube to outside the battery box. I recently replaced it with an Autozone Duralast gold and is identical to the original Delco with the vent tube kit. My 08' daily Pontiac GXP has the same Delco 90-6YR under the hood with one of the the vent opening's open to the atmosphere. Pretty sure all of these batteries are vented in some way, but if out of the passenger compartment, doesn't seem to be of much concern.
