Color for my Brakes?
I want to paint my brake calipers. I have a 2007 Victory red Vert and am torn between red and yellow for the calipers. I like the red but dont think I will be able to match the same shade of red? Any experience with colors that look good or bad? What about brush on vrs spray on applications? Any advice you can give me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DJ

Brush and spray look the same from far, but not from close, brush is easier but spray looks smoother, powder coating is more time consuming but the best.

If you really want Victory Red color matched brakes go for it. If you're worried about matching the color yourself have a professional do it. If it's not perfect they redo it until its right. For me, yellow calipers would be way too much and I feel red is over-used. If anything I like a more subdued level of flash. When I changed brakes I went with black...not red. Mine have yellow lettering which I like. Maybe using an accent color has appeal?
IMO your first 'gut' choice is probably the best...trust your instinct and go with the Victory Red!

Red is the way to go, I have them on mine and the paint matches pretty good. Hard to tell any difference.

Check out the powdercoating from Mike Golding...www.thepowdercoater.com. He has done many, many calipers for CF people, me included. They look great!

Since the calipers are not close to the bodywork, are small, and do not have large flat surfaces, color match is not nearly as critical as it is on a body panel....any red that is close will be fine.

Before you order the RED
Think again about black (I brushed these with Rustoleum):
. . . . . . . . . .
Then order what YOU want, which is probably RED.
