Engine Build - 403ci LS2 - Tracking Progress
I had a question regarding your air intake from another thread, I see you have a solution. I was going to mention there is a good thread going on over in the C5 section, Callaway was participating so I asked about matching up the 102mm TB. He said that he would ask there engineering dept.
I did not see your plans for rocker arms, are you planing to check the wipe pattern, then figuring the push rod length?
The two piece cam cover I told is a pain to do a cam change as far as timing & checking the timing so I gave that up as well. Are you degreeing the cam?
Your question about the cam bolts, there was another member here that went thru that a couple of years back. He had recently changed the cam prior to the failure.
I agree with most regarding your conservative power numbers, the devil is in the details. Looks like you are covering the bases.

Myself I have 416 LS3 on the go, hoping to have some results before Christmas.
The guy building my car should be checking all that upon assembly and measuring the pushrods as they are the only thing not purchased yet. Once they are measured they should be the last piece.
Went with the stock timing cover and all of those smaller pieces since I shouldn't be doing any cam changing anyway.
Regarding the damage the cam was stock to my knowledge so back to square one not really knowing what caused that, bad luck who knows but oh well its done now.
They block should arrive in the shop tomorrow so hopefully I'll have some more pictures to post up of it and the build should start Tues (sucks it has to wait that long maybe Friday but the shop with my car is a bit busy until then).
I am hoping 3 weeks is enough to assembly everything since all the parts are there. I bet my friend i would have my car before the crack of new years. If they aren't really close by Christmas then I may turn into car stalker trying to get everything done. I want it done right but they said if everything is there it shouldn't take that long.
All i can do is cross my fingers.
If you dont mind, can you send me a pm with how much you are spending on the stroker motor? I am debating whether or not to do the same thing, but I'm still not sure how much everything TOTAL will cost, for the engine (not including intake, headers, etc).
Thanks!

The bottom end needed rebuilt so thats why i went the NA route with all these goodies. I like the N/A idea as well and the stroker should give it gobbs of torque.
It will be way too much fun that I am sure of.
Ill keep updating as things get closer along with the final pics and numbers (which may take a little while depending on break in).

New pictures for an update.

Engine on the cradle waiting for install sometime next week.

Still gotta get the ZR1 clutch in there that's next and then hoepfully firing it up late next week.
Can't wait, and i am very curious some of the final power numbers.
<---- *This will be me when i get my car back*
Ill get a whole new post up with more final pics and stuff just thought i would update the numbers.
Thats still on break-in oil and the engine itself will need broken in over time.
Might creep up to 500 on a good day after its really broken in and running smooth. Either way, the TQ is 400+ from 2500 RPMs on so a road race beast it will be. Just gotta hope the new tires help hold it through the corners.
Gonna be fun!
The Torque is huge and just leaps forward when i get on it. They also said the ZR1 clutch is somewhat heavy but should hold all i need.
I am sure once I really break it in and put a synthetic oil in it to really get a good number later.
