Default Exhaust Issues

I have a c6 vette with magnaflow exhaust. My car has 12,000 miles on it and I am having issues with crap spitting out of the tips and coating my entire rear end with black spots. I could usually make them go away by washing it but now there are spots that wont go away unless i take it to a paint shop and have them buff it out. I cleaned the hell out of the inside tips to where I can wipe my finger and have no grease to come on my hands but I have been told the only way to fix this issue is to put the stock exhaust back on.

Has anyone come across this issue and if so what was the fix.

Thanks for all serious replies

Mike

This is normal. I had the same issue with my '06 (Velocity Yellow)when I had it. Although your issue sounds a little worse than the black dust that would pop up after cleaning or just driving period.

I met a guy @ a car show once that told me that putting a small spoiler on would take that away, but to be honest that sounds like 'BS'.

Godd luck!!

See if a tuner can lean it out.

Sounds to me like there are no drain holes where they should be.

Sounds like you are running a little rich or there is a large amount of condensation in the exhaust that is getting pulled up on the rear fascia by the air flow off the rear of the car. Have the fuel tables checked by a tuner and/or drill some drain holes in the tips to drain them

If you track your car and you're blasting WOT the majority of time that's pretty normal. Consider the back end of the Corvette Racing C6.R is painted black for a reason...it gets coated in 'soot' in no time at all. If it's that bad with casual street driving you might be running too rich. Condensation coming out of the exhaust is normal too, especially when you first start the car. The Corsa exhaust has weep holes in the bottom, rear of the 'muffler' cans themselves. The weep holes won't eliminate condensation coming out the exhaust tips but they help.
