If you use DRL's less and won't they and turn signals last longer.
Personally...I'd prefer to replace a bulb if or when it blows and worry about something really important like why I always have to shift my automatic vehicles into "Park" before I get out. That just gets so old after a while.
I'd like my DRL's to be white instead of yellow but I believe state law requires the turn signals to be yellow. Is there a way to accomplish this - white light while on solid and yellow when blinking?
Some here have done that, but got error codes popping up. Also, be aware that you no longer have front turn signals.
They are way over-rated. These work just as well:
There are some other 'special' hand signals used while driving, most of us are familiar with them, usually on the receiving end, so I won't post them here.....

Yes. L.E.D. Switchbacks. There was a thread here recently from a supplier with them.
When I used to have a Grand Prix everyone on that forum always wanted the DRL's to be off and pulling a fuse was the only way to do it. Only difference on that car the DRL's were the headlights. I don't mind how the DRL's on the vette look.

I checked the law here in Missouri and found out that either amber or white was acceptable for the front turn signals. I installed the 6000* white LEDs that I purchased from JWmotoring. If you go with the LED's and you don't want the turn signals hyper flashing then it's necessary to install 6 ohm 50 watt load resistors in parallel with the front turn signal LED. If you want the load resistors ask for them when you order the LED's. After I installed the 6000* LED DRL's they made my HID low beams(4300*) look yellow, so I installed a pair of 6000* HID low beams. Perfect match in color to the DRL's but I lost some light output with the 6000* HID's. Everything has some tradeoffs I guess.
The std white LED's are white when on DRL and white when on turn signal. With the switchbacks, they are white if no other lights are on, but as soon as you turn on the headlights, parking lights, or fog lights, they turn yellow. When you use the trun signals they alternate between amber and white.
If it's a hot sunny day I usually do turn off my DRLs at the joystick. I like the look, they don't really do a lot of good in that kind of weather and the bulbs are haligen which create a lot of heat themselves. Just a habit I've gotten into. I also turn on the parking lights just before going back into the garage and leave them that way. Keeps the headlights from firing up.

I do the same on hot days. When going into dark garage from bright daylight I just switch DRL's off so then nothing comes on. I don't need the lights to come on for a few wasted seconds in my own garage.
If you want them off, just turn the switch in the car and bingo, they go off!
Bringing back this thread to ask a question: If you leave the light switch in the 'OFF' position, do the DRLs stay off all the time until that switch is moved to AUTO or something else??? Just curious. Car arrives in 2 days, so can't try it yet .
To make my lights last longer I don't use in my personal options the arming feature that makes your headlights and other lights blink or honk the horn. I like a quiet quick entry no flashing lights to burn out.

The DRL's default mode is 'on', so each time you start the car, you have to turn them 'off' via the switch mounted on the turn signal stalk.

You can't leave the switch in the "OFF" position. When you flip the switch to "OFF", then turn it loose, it jumps back to "AUTO."
In other words, you can turn off the DRLs any time you want, but it's not permanent.
