Default Should I tint the windows??

I just picked up a very low mile 2005. She is black on black. I am thinking about having the windows tinted tomorrow but was suprised to see how many do not tint their black vettes.

Should I do 20%, 35% or just leave it be? I will be doing all three windows if I decide to go for it.

Thanks for the help.

Go for it - but better check up on what's considered too dark in your area. Be a drag to have to remove it because of some "safety" enforcement

5% in my area is not legal but the cops have the same on there cars, so I hope I can get by with it.

Default absolutely

I have a tiple black vert, & went one shade lighter than limo "black out" & looks awesome. All black w/ dark tint really set the car apart. Makes a huge diff. in the daytime, but can get dicey at night, so 5% might be 2 dark. I think its darker than legal in VA, but never have been pulled 4 it, everything else, I think 12 times, & not 1 mention on the tint.

You will be happy with 35% all the way around. Looks sexy on black and you can still see driving at night. I have had many cars tinted 35% and never had any problems with the local law enforcement here in Michigan.
20% is way too dark, cant see much when night driving, especially backing up!

I am a huge fan of tinting. I did 15% all around on a black coupe, and could not be happier! Well, I could be happier if it was a SHADE darker- but the next step in the Pinnacle line was 5% which was too dark.

Do some searches here and google some tint pics on black vettes. Make sure you get what you like, and know that you might get hassles by the 5-0. For me, 35% was way too light... but then again I am used to 15% on the front of the 'lade, and 5% on the rear (OVER factory tint) which is SUPER dark!

Good luck- and make sure they do the dot matrix correct. I've seen good results tinting it- but still elected to go with solid black to cover the dumb dots...

Just make sure the installer is experienced with Corvettes and can do the job correctly. Ask around, talk to a local Corvette Club member etc. The hatch glass is not easy and the "dots" can cause problems. This is why my car isn't tinted yet.

I had mine tinted....you have to abide by your local law...in Texas it will NOT pass inspection if you do not stay within the law of percent tint....

"Should I tint the windows??"

I would but I live in Arizona so window tinting is pretty much a necessity. IMO keep the side windows legal and go a little darker on the hatch glass. I would not use blackout tint.

Dark tint on a black C6 seems to make the car. Another point to consider is darker you go the more privacy you have.
I have 20% all the way around and with the tint in the windows from the factory comes to 17%...Thanks to Frederick County VA Sherriff Dept. I didn't know that.
BTW-VA is 50% for the side windows

I feel safe with 35% all around. 20% would be better but I do not want the invited pull overs and fines. 35% actually has worked out well for me in the Vette. My other cars are/were 20%. I think too dark detracts from the cars lines too.

I have 20% on mine and it is perfect. Not too dark, not too light.

If you have not researched films as of yet Huper Optik is one to consider.
