Thanks! ANY BORLA GUYS OUT THERE? HOW BAD IS THE DRONE?
I've had both, Corsa Sports and now Borla Stingers. The Borlas do drone, and if I did a lot of highway driving, I would not get these. Great around town, sound 10 times better than the Corsa (much deeper and aggressive sounding), but they do drone. Corsa Sports don't drone at all.
The Borlas are significantly louder than the Corsa Sports, and that can be good and bad. I love the sound of mine, but with windows up, you'll get some resonance (I have some plastic rattles that weren't there before). With windows down, nice warm day, best sounding exhaust.
Its a compromise no matter what you get. Both are good systems.
I had Corsa Sports on my 05 4 speed auto and it had plenty of drone. Don't know why everyone automatically thinks Corsas don't drone, mine did.
It clearly depends on the setup. My blower car, headers and offroad x-pipe had plenty of drone with Sport in the 1600 range. Sound, volume and drone will easily be drastically changed once you get away from stock. Some seem to think because theirs doesn't and others say it won't...that's the way it is but it's not.
I have Corsa Sport on my 2006 and to me it is barely louder than stock. There is no drone, but then again there is barely any noise either. I have NPP on my 2009 with mild 2 wild and it is a hell of a lot more louder than my Corsa Sports. I have had Corsa Sports on my 1998 coupe for 10 years and it is awesome (loud at idle and throttle, but no drone) which is exactly why I put the Corsa Sports on my 2006, thinking it would be the same effect. Nope. Definitely a disappointment. Maybe the X-tremes are better?

Depends upon the specific sound you are looking for. I have had Flowmaster [good kid car sound] Borla [about the same, not very classy] Magnaflow [just about perfect on my C6] Corsa [not quite right] and one other less expensive set up. Everyone's ear is different and at varying ages one likes sound [A] and then later maybe sound [B]....for me I always go with at least a 3" set up and from the cat back.....
So far I like Borla Stingers,Magnaflow ,Corsa extremes and Billy Boat. The problem I am having is the drone. One company sais they did not recommend extremes on an automatic. I guess it is a drone thing. My car is automatic. The drone would bother me on long didtance drives. So I am really torn as everything I seem to like seems to have a drone problem. Any more clips or suggestions without drone is appreciated. I even like flowmasters but I hear they drone more than most. SAVE ME FROM MYSELF,PLEASE!!!
Have Borla Stingers on 2007 C6 MN6 and stock 3.42 gearing. Drone around town not bad but can be obnoxious on the highway between 60 and 74 mph on long trips. If traffic and (lack of) LEO's permit, I drive 75 mph or faster and it cuts drone significantly in 6th gear. I love the lower pitched sound compared to Corsa, including the burble, but will install insulation to reduce the drone next summer.
