To cat back or x-pipe or both? That is part of the question. I am down to a BORLA STINGER OR CORSA SPORT. IUNDERSTAND THERE IS NO DRONE WITH THE CORSA. HOW ABOUT THE BORLA? Prices seem to be about the same. Does each perform as well? Need the benefit of your experience befpr I buy. Also, where is the best prices on these? THANKS, MACK

I have the Borla Stingers and absolutely love them.
They're loud, without being annoying; and they have an awesome muscle car sound.

My understanding is that the x-pipe balances & smooths out the exhaust flow. With the Borla Stingers, it will probably make some difference. My Stingers burble & pop quite a bit on deceleration. If you stay with your H-pipe, I suspect they would pop even more. The popping sound is a negative for some people.

The Borla Stingers do have a little bit of drone.
Although, I have a manual transmission, and it's only noticeable in 5th and 6th gears below 1,700 RPM, or so. I just wind it out a little bit more & shift around it.
If you have an automatic transmission, I would expect them to drone quite a bit, because you'll be in those lower RPMs quite often.
For me, it would probably be unbearable.
I drove a C6 with the B&B Route 66 exhaust - with an automatic - and the drone drove me crazy.

I hope this helps.

If the look of the tips is of any meaning, I'm sure you know Borla is a rolled tip while Corsa is a solid finish tip which has a much better look. We had Borla on one of my daughters cars and really didn't like the look.

I know you cant tell much from the sound bites on websites but I did listen and I like the heavier sound of the Borlas. Drone is important to me and my car is automatic. So if there is a bad drone at a steady cruise of say 70-80 MPH THAT WOULD BOTHER ME.T hanks for the help. Any other suggestions?

If drone is an issue, get the Corsa's.

I agree, Corsas would probably be the best option for you.
You might consider the Corsa Extremes. I understand that they have a deeper sound.

Corsa Extremes are awesome...friend has them on his Grand Sport.

Of course, this is my favorite note so far on a corvette: http://vimeo.com/16786516

Do the Extremes have a drone?

Intalled Corsa Sports today (axle back only). Love them!!!! I was going with the Xtreme but even though some have said no drone there is some. I strongly reccomend the Corsa Sports. Nice sound at idle and great sound when you give it some gas but almost stock quiet at cruising speed. Hope this helps. I hadn't heard the sports before I purchased them but the reviews were so positive I couldn't resist.

Helps a lot. I guess you just cant get a good baritone note like the Borlas have without the drone.

You can always throw on some headers with a x-pipe later. That will give you even more sound. I am probably going to do this at some point in the near future. Just have to decide what headers I want.

Edit: I'm not really sure what the advantage of the X-pipe vs. the stock H. I will prob just go with the headers. I can throw a x-pipe on later. Easy install

I purchased mine on here. I know some forum vendors have some good sales (not sure the exact price or how much for shipping). I saw a set on ebay a few weeks ago for $1199 with free shipping. There are plenty of sets on ebay right now for $1274 with free shipping. Real easy install too. My tips are almost perfect but I might adjust them in a week or so when I get the time. I just wanted to get them on today.

I have the Borla Stingers. The tips are beautiful but there is some low speed drone. If I had to do it over again I would go for the Corsa Sports. The drone gets to you after a while in spite of the good sound.

I have Corsa Xtreme on my 07 and they rock, great sound and no drone, wouldn't have any other. Go to wolfdogs site and listen to his.

Borla Stingers and Corsa Sports are two TOTALLY different sounding exhaust.

Corsa has a high-pitched tone where Borla has a much deeper tone.

I personally think Corsa Sports are the worst sounding exhaust for our cars.

I had Corsa Sports on my 05 4 speed auto and it had plenty of drone. Don't know why everyone automatically thinks Corsas don't drone, mine did.
