Rocking Seat Fix Question
#21
The seat rocking issue on the C6 is a totally different animal than on the C5. At least mine was. The rocking was occurring on the riser mechanism, and the dealer had to replace the whole riser on mine to fix it.
I'm not aware of any simple "washer" fix for the C6.

Mine rocks when I take off fast at a light in 1st gear. I can't repeat it by sitting and pushing back on the seat, so it's kind of hard to diagnose since it only happens to me when taking off fast.

I had it twice with the C5, once on the C6. All fixed. The second C5 repair they covered even though the warranty had expired. I believe the track repair is essentially the same fix for all.

The mechanism that raises and lowers the seat was what caused the rocking seat issue in my C6, not the tracks. The part they ordered was called the "riser". I never got to see the actual part myself, but when I got under the seat and examined what was actually moving, it was the rod with the bar on it that rotates and lifts the seat up and down and is driven by a screw drive. I could duplicate the problem at the dealer by simply sitting in the seat and pushing backwards against the seat like happens when you step on the gas and it would "pop" back and forth. I also found it was more prone to do it with the seat in one position. If you raised or lowered it a bit it would go away for a while, only to come back later.
It hasn't done it at all since they replaced the "riser".

Doesn't it bother Corvette owners that GM cannot even make something as basic as a quality seat?
GM, you can sell all the Malibus you want, but you still do not know how to make a high-end car with quality.
