I'm 64 and currently enjoying the hell out of my '09 vert. It's my second Corvette. But nevermind me. How about Jack Lalanne who is now age 95, and a huge Corvette fan. I read an article about his hobby in a past issue of Corvette Enthusiast magazine... impressive.
I'm now 63 and started driving vettes at age 28. So its been 35 yrs and over the years there have been 11 vettes. My '09 coupe is the best yet. The GS is my wish list for the next one.
64. Bought my first corvette, an 05 Coupe, about 8 months ago. I enjoyed it so much that I bought an 10 GS Coupe A6. My adrenaline goes up when I drive now. What a blast!
I just turned 69. I got my first Corvette at 28. I still have the second one -- a 1970 -- I got it at 29. This one is my third - bought it just as I turned 66. I bought all of them new. Life is good!
Will be 69 next month. Have owned Vettes continously from January 1972. Starting with a 69 390 HP roadster, then a 71 LS6 425 HP coupe, 86 coupe, 97 coupe, 03 Z06, 08 Z06. All of them driven many miles and run hard. Still racing. No sense having a Corvette if all you do is park it and look at it. If you haven't run them at the limit you don't have any idea what you are missing.
At 66 loving the Vette's. Got into cars with a 40 Ford in high school. Picked up a 67 442 in 67 while serving. Then life hit. Wife and kids. Turned 60 and deceided to get back into cars. So over the next 6 years, pickup a 88 35th Anniversary, 92 Moded Coupe, 94 Zr1 and an 08 AO 4LT Auto Coupe. Like them all but taking care of them is getting to be a bit much. Wife really likes the 08.
Will be 63 in Feb. Last July (on the 4th), my son, Ben, called me down to Selman Chevrolet in Orange. He had me test drive a Vette. He knew I always wanted one!
So I tell him, "Yeah, it is a cool car. Someday." He said "Pick one out, Dad! I am buying
you one!" I told him no way. . . he said if he wanted to buy me a Vette, that was what
he was going to do. So my wife points to a black 2010 GS, and said "That one!". So
now I cruise around in the car I always wanted! We have almost 7,000 miles on it, and
it is everything I thought it would be, and more!
This is a WOW story! I luv it.
And LAVLA, those are great pics all along the way!
