If you have electricity in the garage then hook up a Battery Tender, CTEK 3300 or similar battery "maintainer", not trickle charger. If no electricity available then disconnect neg battery cable. If you do that you will have to re-index the windows when you hook it up again in Spring.

Appropriate amount of StaBil in the gas tank and preferably drive for 20-30 minutes to distribute it through the lines.

Change the oil and filter. Don't want to leave dirty oil in the engine for several months. Again, drive a few minutes if possible.

Ideas for mouse repellent:

What's the reason for plugging the exhaust tail pipes?

I just pull it in the garage and disconnect the battery.

I wonder how many RPMs it takes to fire a mouse out the exhaust.

Doesn't take much! What's left inside gets chicken-fried in a hurry.

With two tanks on a Vette how do you get the Stabil distributed equally in each tank ?

Start with a close to empty tank, add StaBil before fueling, then add fuel until full and drive around a short while.

I have a small blower at the rear of the car facing the front which keeps air circulating under the car and eliminates concrete condensation when I have the heat off.

Airing up the tires is unnecessary. That's old school thinking that dates back to bias-ply tires.

I have never used Stabil in anything I own. This will be the first year for the Vette(new owner), so we'll see how it works out. My boat always gets a fill up with fresh gas just prior to parking it for the winter. That sucker sits for 7 months of the year in my neck of the woods, and I've never encountered a single fuel-related issue in the spring despite the lack of a fuel stabilizer.

Basically, I cleaned the car, changed the oil, hooked up a battery maintainer, covered it with a quality cover, and put it to bed until late-April/early-May. We'll see how things pan out in 4 1/2 months.........

You should probably read this and it may change your mind and bring you out of the "old school thinking".

Nope. My mind's made up.

Of course, it might help that I am able to avoid the use of ethanol-blended fuels. Oh Canada.........!!!!!!

By the way, the only "old school thinking" I referred to was airing up radial tires for the winter, but it was kind of you to quote me out of context. Should I provide you with a link to prove I'm right about the tire thing??????

Could someone explain the whole condensation under the car thing? Why would anything condense under the car in very cold conditions that doesent occur similarly in hot/warm conditions?

Your garage will heat and cool throughout the day. The air temp will swing more quickly then solid items like your car. Your concrete slab will be a source of moisture as water permeates through it.

Warmer humid air and a colder car = condensation.

Is it a big problem? No. Is it easy to address? Yes.

to my knowledge, not "condense" per se. rather, concrete absorbs and releases moisture. think moisture barriers on foundations, outside walls, etc.

You might want to consider inserting a pad of steel wool in each to prevent rodents from chewing through to gain entry into your exhaust system. I use it in my house to plug holes where water pipes etc enter the house and it works well.

Any body have any experience with those electronic rodent repellers? They plug into an available outlet and emit a sonic pulse about every 5 seconds to scare the little bastiches away. I have a couple in the Vette's stall but think I will try the mothball thing too!
