How do you get in a locked 2009 Z06 when the car battery is dead?
Use the key in the fob to unlock the back hatch. Once inside the back hatch area, pull the tag on the driver's side over the rear wheel that's labeled for the door. Pulling on it will open the driver's door.
I've forgotten, where is the battery located in the Z06?
The only time your girl should climb out the window is if she is wearing a short skirt. Well, that's what I would see as a good event. Otherwise, the handle on the floor is probably your best option!
Apologies for the temporary thread hijack, but is there a way to find out your passcode if you bought a used car?
You will need to buy a subscription. I would start with this black looking book called an "owners manual", and it should walk you through how to buy a subscription.

I'm wondering if they may be in the trunk... If they were, would the fob range be sufficient enough to be unlocking the doors?

Absolutely not! Happened to me twice and my daughter had to come and bring me the key because nobody will even try to open that car (e.g AAA) without the garantee for no damage.
I bought my 09 C6 used in September and it only came with one fob and I'm ashamed to say I locked it into the trunk a few months ago. I had just finished playing softball and my fob was in my backpack when I opened the trunk by pressing the button by the plate. Opened the hatch, put backpack in and closed right as I realized what I did. Called OnStar gave them my VIN but they wouldn't sign me up on the phone, said i had to hit the button in the inside to signup. So they transfered me to roadside assistance who then called a locksmith for me. He was able to put the plastic stick in through the passenger side window and release the emergency pull on the floorboard. Granted it took awhile 30 minutes of trying but it was done.
I've since made two copies of the key, one hidden on the car and the other spare at home. I still need to buy another fob though.
Glad you were able to find a clever/experienced locksmith.
As long as you're buying another fob, buy two. You can program up to four for the car.
Then hide fob #3 somewhere in the car and if you lose your fob while you're out and about you can still get in using your hidden key and start/drive the car with the hidden fob.
I'm traveling and have lost track of the vette keys. I'm wondering if they may be in the trunk... If they were, would the fob range be sufficient enough to be unlocking the doors? Obviously the doors are not unlocking, so if the range is sufficient I can rule the trunk out as possible places they could be.
On another note, how do you get into these cars without a fob or key? Given the electronic locks, I wouldn't know where to begin.
Thanks all for your help, and Merry Christmas.

About 8-9 months after I purchased my 98 C5, GM send me a (FREE)special flat key in a plastic sleeve that was made to fit in your wallet(and cut to fit my VIN). The key would extend out the end of the sleeve and the sleeve gave you the width needed to leverage the lock. I guess that GM figured I was dumb enough to lock my keys in the car. Since I now had the spare key in my wallet, I found it was never necessary for me to use it.
When I purchased my C6Z, the first thing I did was to have a locksmith cut me two keys using a Saturn B-106 blank(no thick plastic handle) and I keep one in my wallet and the other is hid on the car. $6.40 for two keys is cheap insurance to never have to mess with the trials and tribulations of locking myself out of my car.
Every time I read one of these "I'm locked out of my car, what do I do?" threads (every day?) I wonder if anybody ever reads their Owners Manual.
The solution is simple; DISABLE THE PASSIVE LOCKING! That way the only time the doors and hatch will lock is when you press the lock symbol on the fob. I think the passive locking is great idea, my fob stays in my left pocket all the time, no need to ever press any buttons.
On my '08 the passive locking is explained on page 3-77.
