I have searched high and low and can't find my paint code in this mess of letters and numbers. The posts I did find said it should have the name of the color followed by the paint code but I either was looking at the wrong C6 information or my label is lacking.
I hope the link to the best picture I could take of my label from the glove box? If not I'll repost.
Thanks for any help. I know it's machine silver but when I tried to order a paint chip repair kit I was stumped.
Mines a 2006 but I was able to find and confirm your great information! Thank you, I searched for a while this morning and they kept saying the code was after the real paint color. So I don't know what year that was but certainly not the 2006.
Yes, the 10th character of your VIN says the car is an 06. For model year 2006, the paint code and name for silver was 67U Machine Silver Metallic. That's a premium paint for which GM charged $750 extra.
The actual paint code that the body shop would use is U994L
The body shop that repaired my 2006 Monterey Red Coupe used a paint code of 80U. Why would they have used the GM paint code, but other body shops would have used the touch up paint code?
Actually the paint code shown on your glove box door is 994L. Add the "WA" prefix and officially known as WA994L. Very easy to decode. BC/CC(base coat/clear coat), U(upper) 994L. If your car had accent paint, there would be an L(lower) paint code shown as well.
