Team Manager Doug Fehan revealed today the upcoming season's C6R GT2 Vette driver lineups following Johnny O'Connell's transfer to Cadillac's World Challenge program, confirming some hot rumors. The #3 car will pair Olivier Beretta with BMW's Tommy Milner, an up and coming, very talented young American driver, to be joined by Antonio Garcia for the long races. The #4 will pair Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen with Brit Richard Westbrook for the long races. I think we'll all miss Johnny O, but this will be a very quick lineup as well, here's hoping we've got all the pit lane issues, mechanical woes and crashes out of the way and let's get back to kicking some *** in GT2.That being said, that GT2 class is absolutely brutal, with new Ferrari's, the rock-solid Porsches, BMW's and the steadily improving Ford and Jaguar teams, with the new addition of Lamborghini, should be some really good racing.
Good news to a limited point.
1 of 6 drivers is an American (one of the long haul guys should be also)

We want wins but we all want American drivers...ok Fellows is Canadian but not like we can't take Canada anytime we want so he was close enough.
Can't wait for the Corvette Corrals--time to give Fehan and CR execs a good rash of crap over this-up close and personal. I can just 'hear' the crap that Fehan is already thinking up to explain the loss of Johnny O.
Anyone know what rule changes for the corvette team. Their allowed to use paddle shift this year and switching. Was just wondering if there's any others.

He's obviously a great driver, but I'm sorry, losing it on a straight with nobody else on the track and doing five 360s isn't what I call a save...just luck.

Possibly a little of both. Considering it was an unfamiliar car (and possibly the track as well) I'd say due to whatever reason he did well...he drove an undamaged car back to the paddock.
Ferrari's have their own signature sound and so does Corvette...love the sound of those naturally aspirated C6.R's!

True that! I was blown away by that sound at the Road America race I went to two years ago. A vicious snarl compared to any of the other cars! Here is a shot I took at the time...
Re: the JJ spin in the C6.R. If you saw the entire episode on Speed's Test Drive, he had very little time in the car, tires were cold, he hit a bump in a transition section, the chassis unsettled and he kept his foot in it. Kudos to him for getting more into road racing. With all his Cup success, he isn't doing it for fame or money. He's trying to get better. He's with Gainsco (again) in a Chevy powered DP at the upcoming 24 Hrs. of Daytona.

my first visit to a track I was blown away by the sound of the zo6. Neat picture which I will forward to my bro who has a 997tt.
he's such a talented guy, but I agree with John. I also don't worry too much about an American icon being driven by non-Americans. if only there were American drivers who wanted to race Corvettes...I wish Team Corvette good luck regardless of who's driving.

From the lemans.org web site: ... in agreement with the GT manufacturers the ACO has decided to create a GT Endurance category with a single set of regulations valid between 2011 and 2013. These regulations are based on the current GT2 cars complying with the 2009 ACO rules with the following modifications:
* Steering wheel mounted paddle gearshifts allowed.
* Only 1 evolution per year allowed.
* 2 evolutions per year will be allowed for new cars.
* Measures will be taken to reduce top speeds without reducing overall power.

What do you mean by that?????
I think I have a idea of your meaning behind it.....I just have to say for sake of argument that Canada is our neighbor....and in my mind as close as a brother would be otherwise. IMHO
