I guess my question is that while I traded in my car, my wife and I did not actually sign for anything other than the trade. We were told all the paperwork would be completed at delivery. Is that the usual?
Sorry, don't know how Stasek handles the paperwork. Maybe he doesn't want to commit to delivery date because he can't because of Bowling Green not operating continuously. Different dealers may handle it differently.

I don't understand "I did not actually sign for anything other than the trade". What did you sign?

I had no trade. I signed a sale agreement (where there was a line for the credit I would have received had I had a trade) and gave them a small deposit.

Maybe someone else who reads this thread or if you post another question as a separate thread they will provide an answer.

My next car will be out of inventory as was the CTS I bought from another dealre after the first dealer's CTS order failed to materialize. That way I know I will be in immediate possession and be able to check out the car...how many miles (i.e. how many demo rides), scuffs on wheels, orange peel on paint not acceptable, etc. and drive it off the lot.

Stasek may be able to source your car from another dealer if you want it right away but if I was doing that I would take a courtesy delivery from the dealer who has the car (from whom Stasek buys there) so I could have a check the car before I accept it.
See if your car is here:
http://www.jeffhardy.com. You may find an identical car there.

I should have said that I was given a 10000 credit for my trade which is the paperwork that I signed. This would go directly to the Corvette once it arrives. We worked out the numbers as well which is in writing and I have a copy. I am just waiting to get the Order number since this weekend was a holiday. I have been told that I will get it either today or Thursday. I am pretty sure that since there is no VIN yet that we cant secure financing and such.

Congrats, very exciting to order!

Is the allocation system still in place? I thought it was eliminated or modified somehow since the recession tanked sales so hard?

It is still in effect. I recieved a call for my salesman saying the 2 they had this week were already taken and would have to wait a little longer . I guess that is when I get the order number.
