Default EZ Vent and Coupe

I read about the EZ Vent from Corvettegadgetman..com here on the forum and thought I would give it a try as the buffeting with the top off drives me crazy. Put it on today and it is FANTASTIC. Buffeting is gone. It makes more difference than I could believe. Have not tested it for a long drive yet but it is good to go into the low triple digits. This thing really works...so far...
Not associated with the company at all. Just a guy who bought one and is really satisfied. Thought I would pass it along.

I was wondering about these. One quick question. Have you tried it with or without the targa top in the hatch ? Does it make a difference either way?

I have only tried it with the top in the hatch. That's where I keep it when it is off. Don't know about it without but i can't believe the physics change. it just opens the hatch about an inch which gives air flow through. Solves the buffeting. This thing made my day today. How nice it is not to buffet!!!

Thanks for the info. It's cheap enough, I think I am going to give it a try.

So you literally have to drive with your hatch opened slightly?

Seems odd. What about exhaust fumes coming back into the car?

Yep hatch is open. Thats what makes it work.
let's think about this a minute. Air flows over the windshield, in through the hole where the top is missing and out the back. Sort of like every vert I have ever driven.
Now, with the hatch open on a hard top, like a tahoe, or the vette with the top on you have a completely different airflow dynamic and i can see a fume issue. I have driven my Tahoe with the back open on occaision and there is a fume issue.
I ain't an engineer, but i am not going to worry too much about exhaust fumes lingering in the vette with the top off and the windows down.

Do you ever get people stopping you and telling you your hatch is open?

Just seems weird to have to drive around with the hatch open on a $50K+ car.

Drove from Sioux Falls, SD to West Bend, WI (585 miles) last September with the Top down the whole way doing 75 mph. No problems

Drink much in the afternoon? It ain't for convertables! Convertables don't have an air dam that cause the buffeting like a coupe. Oh my.

You know, there are times that this forum is not worth dealing with the handful of higher than thou people who think their s**t don't stink.

The majority of the people are great, but those handful of people..... I tell you what

There was something similar for C4's, had one for my Callaway, worked great. Eliminated the buffeting as stated, no exhaust fumes and never had anyone stop me to tell me my hatch was open LOL. May have to order one for the C6
