The reason no one makes one that you can install without having to remove it put the top up/down is because the windscreen wouldn't work very well!! The screen keeps air from moving from the rear deack to the front of the car and it needs to be as close to the tonneau cover as possible to keep air from coming underneath it. I have the GM windscreen and there is about a half inch gap between the screen and the waterfall and you can feel a stream of air that passes over the center console. Not a problem when its warm, but when its cold out.. bbbrrrrr!! but it's still WAYYYY better (and warmer) than without the windscreen.
I am not sold on how great the difference is. Does it help? Yes, but it was not night and day for me. One Mod I will not buy. I am glad I got to try it first.
That is awesome! LOL... I have to get one.... so it blocks the wind really well? Looks like the guy above me could take it or leave it...
Oh GoD DamniT....Wife says it looks cheesy! I was just gonna order one with the red light! OH MAAAAAAN! Isn't there a law where it states you can just shoot your Wife once ....just once would be great

Reason: Wife says "no"
The manufacturer sent me some additional pics in an email. It bends in around the seats and comes up to parallel with the seat backs. There appears to be a fairly large gap between the waterfall and the bottom of the windscreen.
I will email it to anyone that is interested in more pics. Not sure how I could post as they were embedded in the email and I was only able to put them and the info into a pdf file. If someone knows where I can post a pdf file and allow it to be shared, then I could post the link to it.
I think since I show my car a fair amount that I am going to go with the factory GM one so I can remove for the car shows. Again, from the pics I got, I am not sure I would want this in the car for shows and it does not sound like it would be easily removed.

I looked at all the pictures, including the PDF brochure. It seems to me that you have to keep your seat forward to make this work. I am only 5'9" and I keep my seat all the way back, and I don't know if this product would work for me based on that. Maybe someone from PFYC can chime in? they look really cool, though.
My reply is for the GM wind screen, not a glass type. I would think the solid glass would stop the backwash. I have not tried that one. The GM screen at 80 mph was no help,at 60 mph their was a little. When I took it out and did another lap on the same road ,same speeds. There was just not enough difference for me. To each their own, always wave...it's free
BLD.70DRIVERMPG-RET. When you had the windscreen in place, did you have the windows up or down? I have heard that there is not much difference with the windows down but with them up - it does work good.
Just want to confirm.

I did have the windows down. I 'am not sure if having the windows up is a good thing at speed. They seen to move too much at the rear of the glass for me. The window in the track getting loose is my fear. If they were in a frame ,no issue.

The designer of this windscreen is a big guy - 300lb. The seats can go all the way back with it in place - trust us on this. If you put the seat all the way back, the seat may rest against the plexiglass, but it does not restrict seat movement at all. There is even an opening in the Restrictor to allow access for the seat handle on the back of the headrest.
What are the limitations/requirements on custom designs? If you order it lighted without a battery pack or 12V adapter or anything, what does the electrical connection it comes with look like?
With the windows up, a windscreen is worthless because the air comes in the cabin after being deflected by the side mirrors. With the windows up, there is verly little air coming into the cabin area, and it's almost as quiet as it is with the top up. In fact the air coming to the cabin with the windows up, screen on, is less than a coupe with the windows up and top off.

Almost anything that fits within a 14" wide by 6" tall area can be done. You send us any graphic file and we lay it out first, then get your approval before doing the final Restrictor.
Electrical is power and ground at the end of a harness.

Okay, another question....
1. I have the bracket already installed for the GM windscreen. they came with the car, I just dont have the windscreen! In fact, I did not even know it was installed for a year after I had the car.
Do I need to remove the brackets? and install yours instead?

Yes, they'd need to be removed. The design of those brackets and location is exactly why that screen has to be removed every time you put the top up or down. The design and location of the Wind Restrictor brackets is exactly why it can stay in place forever if you wish.
