Default Convertible Windscreen Comparison

Sorry for the double post but I did not get a response in the parts section.

I am thinking about getting a windscreen for my 2011 GS Vert.
Wandering if anyone has compared the different ones available or has any suggestions on one to buy/not to buy.
I am thinking the GM one as opposed to the vette net but have not tried or been in a car with either installed.

Has anyone tried this one?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Winds...item20b7f21ca1

Thanks for the help.

Tony

I bought the GM version. Fairly simple install, but you do have to make a small slit in the carpet behind the seat and drill a hole in the seat belt tower to mount the screen brackets. Good price from Stonebriar Chevrolet online, included a storage bag ~$300 plus shipping last summer. Really helps with the wind whipping around between the seat backs.
Well worth the $$ for me!

Has anyone tried this one? Kind of different, (I have never seen one anyway). The lighted version seems interesting.

Looks pretty cool, but I doubt you could see anything in the rear view.

I have the GM version, and love it. I posted a review and did a write up on the installation a few years ago.

I'm also interested in one. But every one I've seen needs to be removed to put the top up and down. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a power top. Are there any that don't have to be removed every time you operate the top?

None that I've heard of. I agree that if you have to disassemble it every time you put the top back up, then it's more hassle than it's worth.

Just an idea, but... every time I think about windscreens, I don't see why someone couldn't attach some snaps to the back of a roll bar like mine. My top clears with room to spare.

Actually this one can stay in place with the top up. The etched logo is an option. You can actually have it etched with ALMOST anything you want and lighted color choices. I bought my mother one for her solstice for Christmas.

Just do a search on ebay for corvette windscreen. It is the same one that pfyc is selling. Not sure who makes it.
It does allow the top to be raised and lowered while in place.

I am interested but have yet to hear from anyone who has actually purchased.

Thanks for all the responses.

PM sent to shellygraham about battery cover.

ask the vendor. blaq is correct tho, looking at their site: it can come blank which would cert. aid in seeing out of it at nite. lit up, it might be difficult seeing anything in the rearview mirror. but it sure would look cool.

I am going to expand the question if you don't mind....
ALSO - Does the seat go all the way back with the roll bar? And, what about the auto top? Does the roll bar have to come out?
Thanks.

I posted a promo on ours last week - 5x reward points with purchase. I'll extend that to those who post in this thread thru this Friday, 3/25/11.

A bit OT so if you have any more questions, PM me. The bar is from Breathless Performance (forum vendor.)

Seats go all the way back. The top of the seat will touch the bar but that's not really a problem, but the seat may squeak against the bar. What I did was add a few washers to the forward bolts to tip the bar slightly back, so my seats do not touch the bar (I'm 6'1" and need them seats all the way back.)

The bar is left in all the time, too much work to remove it once it's installed (takes about 4 hours.) The top clears just fine. In fact, I added padding around the bar and the top still clears.
