Default De-winterizing corvette

My 2006 C6 has been sitting in the garage in North Jersey all winter and now that the sun is shining and the salt is all gone its time to start enjoying the car again. What is the best thing to do to get it all ready for the spring?

Depends on what you did to winterize it. Disconnect battery maintainer, remove mothballs, check tire pressure, etc. When starting for the first time put the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there. when you push the start button the motor will crank and not start. Let it crank for 5-10 second to build some oil pressure. Then shut off and start normal. Place in drive and enjoy.

And if you didn't change the oil and filter before storage, do it now.

If you disconnected the battery at all during the winter, you'll need to reset the window indexing.

Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.

This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner's manual. See page 2-17 of the 2005 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2006 owner’s manual, page 87 of the 2007 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2008 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2009 owner's manual, page 3-18 of the 2010 owner's manual, or 2-18 of the 2011 owner's manual. -JFP

Exactly what I did. Put 200 miles on it last weekend. Couldn't believe how I missed it.

I think this is it. It's sitting in the garage uncovered but still hooked up to the battery tender. Just waiting for the warmer weekend and a detail.

Watch out for the giant pot holes.

There are chances of snow this Friday in Minneapolis. I doubt I'll have my car out in the next two weeks... : (

Can't believe we could get more snow... But I leave for Mexico Thursday

I took mine off the jacks yesterday and drove it about 4 inches to settle the tires. again

I figure by the time I get back to MN in April I'll be able to finish up a couple mods and FINALLY get back on the road!!!

I tried this and it didnt work, it fired right up on my 2010 as soon as I hit the starter button despite the pedal to the floor thing. I think that only worked on C5s and in C6s you need to pull a fuse.

Now that's wierd! I put the gas & clutch pedals to the floor, then hit start button, nothing but cranking. '05 mn6. I wonder if they have changed it? Is your's a dry sump?
