What do you guys think of using Amsoil?

Actually you will pick up a few horsepower after an oil change. The effect goes away pretty quickly, but I have seen it in person with back to back dynos, with very light oils on motorcycles.
Would used 5w30 produce less than 0w30 new oil? Its definitely possible, as Ive seen that type of change result in 2-3hp gain on a 150hp bike motor.

I just got an email from an AMSOIL dealer and office colleague transmitting a bulletin published March 29th to dealers that AMSOIL's top tier (25k drain interval) ASL product meets and exceeds GM's new dexos1 spec in the 5W-30 viscosity grade. AMSOIL had sent me an email last fall answering a direct question I had for them regarding dexos1. They advised that 1st quarter of 2011 would be the timetable for reformulating their top tier motor oils to meet dexos1. They have now done what they said. 
The brief on the change which is now available to dealers shows that the ASL 5w30 will be labeled to exceed Dexos1 and the 0w30 will be labeled as suitable for Dexos1. It appears AMSOIL is not going to label the 0w30 as "exceeds" because GM doesn't allow 0w30s to meet Dexos1. AMSOIL will warranty both for GM Dexos1 applications.
More to follow after May 1st.

The actual product announcement will come out May 1st, but essentially true. They are going to combine the Signature Series 0w30 and the three SAE Synthetics (0w20, 5w30, 10w30) into one line labeled "Signature Series" with all rated at 25k miles/1 year in normal service, 15k miles/1 year in severe service. The SSO product designation will be changed to AZO. But, the 5w30 product designation remains ASL and they will sell the old version until it ships out - which is why I had held off on "announcing" the change.

I just switched from a die hard Mobil 1 5w-30 to Amsoil 5w-30. The local napa store had it so I figure I hear all this good stuff about it. I buy seven quarts and WOW I noticed my engine gettin a lil more oil pressure and there seems to be better acceleration. Anyway just wanted to hear other opinions?
