Still holding out for a standalone LS7 engine option on the coupe...

C'mon GM...you can't give away a $100K Z06 right now, but lots of us would pony up the bones for the engine!

I don't think the rest of the car is conducive to that power. The traction is the main issue.

It worked in the late C2 and early C3. It will work more effectively in the much better engineered C6.

Those engines had nowhere near the power or torque of the LS7. Nevermind the numbers - the engines you're referring to were rated in SAE gross vs. today's net.

We are only talking around 70 HP or so.

That 70hp changes things. You need more tire. Even the Z06 is traction limited with 325's out back. How are 285's going to get it done?

Lets see. I am a Blue Car person. I am not impressed with the 2 Light Blue Colors available for 2012. Then no black. Its only been the leading seller for some time now. And now, the 3LT will include the Navigation radio??? If I wanted the Navigation I would have ordered it. To say the least I am very upset over what you have turned into. I dont know where these decisions are made, but, you obviously dont listen to your customers...

Guess you've never seen a supercharged C6? Get rid of the Goodyear runcraps and use a better tire.

Back on topic.

Thanks Ken for posting this. Lot's of good options there. Wish I was ready to order a Z06/Z07.

Makes me think I did good ordering one of the last 2011 GSs (currently in order-status 3000). Black/black/black vert. $3K GM discount & GSU purchase puts true cost pretty close to par/no penalty. Essentially same car as 2012.

You want black in 2012? Buy the fancy one. I suspect ZLC Centennial Edition will be very popular ... and very very pricey. 2011 order gets me same fundamentals and in black, w/o the premium. Did good.

From what I've read, the jury's still out on Black for 2012. Very odd since Black was the most popular color in 2010 accounting for 24% of all sold units.

Also notice how they added HUD to 2LT. So those who now want HUD but not navigation would get 2LT not 3LT. They actually made 2LT like 2.5LT, which is exactly what people wanted.

Later C4's had 300hp w/ the same sized rear tire as the C6. We're now 135hp past that number, and no one is flying off the roads w/ the 285's that are still on the rear. LS7 would do fine w/ 285's under normal driving conditions. If you want to smoke them, then yeah, you may have a problem, but you can smoke the 285's easily if you want to as well. I say GM should give us the engine, and leave the driving to us.

Default The final attempt to sell the last 6th generation Corvettes!!!

IMO, it appears that the Corvette Team in Detroit is throwing everything they have with the listed options at these 2012 model year Corvette changes to keep sales going until the new 7th generation starts up in 2013 as the 60th Anniversary Editions Corvettes!!!

It will be a long year to wait for the C-7 Corvette to be announced next year at the Birthday Bash in Bowling Green, hopefully with lots of spy pictures, good rumors and insider information coming out in the next few months to keep us happy.

Does anyone living near the Assembly Plant or the GM Design Center in Detroit keep their camera ready for capturing the test fleet of new Corvettes?? Let the fun begin!!

So there's not going to be a Commemorative Edition for the C6 run?
