Vibrating Mirror Fixed(!)
Like many I've read posts complaining about the vibrating rear view mirror. Well I received some better pins from a forum member and put them in.
This is awesome, I can now drive down the road and see behind me. There isn't a bunch of objects shaking all over. I can move the mirror without it feeling like it's going to break off.
Here is a pic of how bent the pins were. I was surprised by this

Humm, mine is rock solid. Actually kinda of tough to adjust...this looks like one less thing I have to worry about worrying about.

Me too! Where do you get the pins and how do you R/R the mirror to fix the issue?

I got the pins from a forum member. I'm not sure where he got them.
To remove the mirror just grab the base and twist counter clockwise (I believe) and it comes right off. Then you have 3 T8 size screws and the pins just come out.

I just straightened mine out on the 05 and if you don't put any torque on the base, it'll be fine for a while - YMMV.

I took the mirror off. Straightened the pins and reassembled. We'll see if the blurry cars in the mirror settle down.

Straightening the old pins doesn't do squat.

Well, Craig (bassspring) mailed me some stainless steel springs mirror rods. I just installed them and the "play" is gone in the mirror. I can tell immediately that the vibration is dampened.
Thanks a ton Craig! These springs are the shiznitz!
