Default Wheel Well Project

Here are the photos from my wheel well soundproofing installation:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/album.php?albumid=18340

The fourth picture is the area in front of the liner where the air for the rear brake ducts enters through the rocker panel. This is how the rocks and grit get into the gap in the rocker panel and rear quarter panel. The third picture is of all the debris that ends up inside teh rear defuser panel. All in all this was a simple project and is worth the effort - the car is noticably quieter. The black areas on the liners is the factory foam rubber and didn't need covered. I am thinking of adding a wire mesk screen to keep the rocks and sand from entering the rocker panel area - I just need to figure out how to secure the screen, I was thinking of silicone around the edges.

Looks good! I've been planning to do the same thing. Hope it is worth the effort!

Looks good. I never ceased being amazed at the ingenuity of so many C6 owners...

When I pulled off my rear fender liners it looked like a trash collection point in there! I was amazed at how much crap had collected inside there.... dirt, leaves, rocks... you name it. It's a really PP design imo..... no way it should be able to do that. BTW.. mine had 19,000 miles on it so I can only imagine what it must look like in 50 or 60k......

What product did you actually use for this project? Also did you conduct any decibel readings before and after?

I used the sound reduction material sold by "crazy cowboy" on this forum - It was left over from when I installed the material in the trunk and cockpit. Only my ears - so I don't know the Db level - I just know that it is better. All of the seams were taped and a test that I had completed prior didn't asorb any water.
