I like the off-set bracket from ZIP, and you can remove it in 3 seconds:

Wow,your wife let's you bring the vette in the house?

Not a good day for you at all. Get a bracket or at least a receipt for one, show it to the DA and perhaps they will let you off. Do nothing and see if your luck gets any better, and you can always mount the front plate.

I use a hideawy plate in the front under the bumper, here in Ottawa and have been pulled over many times, my usual line to them is;

"oh, I just detailed the car and forgot to pull it back up". which usually get a "what are you talking about", and then when I show them , they usually say, "hey that's cool, I'm going to get one for my car...

And NEVER give an officer sass. Your mouth to the LEO was a dumb mistake. Telling an officer to "Bring it." is like waving red at a bull. They sure as hell will. Over, and over, and over.

Regards.
And if they make you pay the ticket walk right outside and take that plate off. Really it is a $110 and it doesn't hurt your insurance.

I agree with not giving the officer sass, because sadly a great deal of LEO are egotistic and use/abuse there authority as an anger management self treatment tool. And will definitely "bring it".

I know isn't that funny. Why hide your vette in a garage were nobody can see it, not even you.

Not necessarily true. I bought my Vette 2 months ago in NJ and the dealer asked if i wanted to put the plate on. I said no because he was going to drill through the bumper. The bracket that came with my car has 3M tape on the back...no need to drill. I put the front plate bracket/plate on last week because I pass through too many toll booths and getting a $100+ fine is unacceptable (especially with gas prices nowadays). The car looks better without the plate....but still looks with. I need to get a customized plate (blue and white to match my SSB paint) because the "Empire gold" plate for NY is just hideous. My 2 cents....

It continues to amaze me that people think, for some reason, that laws should not or do not apply to them. You know the law, you choose to break it, then why complain when you get caught and fined?

It's like all the hot shots in the left lane. Somewhere along the line they got a special law passed just for them.....that if you drive a vette ( or something else ) that you can exceed the speed limit and tailgate with impunity....the law somehow just doesn't apply to you.

One of the real problems here is that the factory designed the C6 with no concern for a decent front plate mounting location. The stick on/drill on bracket is hideous. The C5, on the other hand, though not the car the C6 is, had a front plate mount designed in as part of the car.

I have lived in Texas for 25 years and driven several different corvettes....never had a front plate...never pulled over because of not having one.... can we just put the plate in the front window in Texas?

My personal opinion is that putting the plate in to window just draws attention to the fact that you have no plate. I believe some states DO allow you to put it in the window. No sure about Texas, NY/NJ do not.

decided a couple yrs ago to just put the plate on,,,,,,still some without,,,,to me just not worth the hassle,,,if the OP goes to court he will likely have if thrown out if he has a plate on the car,,,proof with pic,,,but the days wages are likely way more then the 110 bucks,,,,so is it worth it,,,,,,,unless you get to date the hot blonde,,,,

Just get a front plate mount and be done with it. Toronto is notorious for missing front plates on sports cars and it is easy pickings to spot. If you don't do it you will be paying a lot of tickets. Also note that plastic plate covers have to be clear since tinted is not accepatable and will get you a ticket. You have been warned.

What? Vette owners buy a high end car thats not exactly cheap and cant afford fines? The front plate ruins the front of the car.

Move to California, We don't need no stinkin plates and the LEOS dont give a crap, they have bigger fish to fry. The LEOS here look at my car every day and never pull me over. They understand its a joke to site you.

Canada seems to be such a progressive country, whats with the plate ****'s?
