It may depend on the system but we don't use front plates in Arizona and our photo-enforcement (revenue enhancement) systems don't have any problem issuing citations.

I would fight it. If you lose, who cares...You got your point across to the judge that her demeanor as a officer of the law is unprofessional. Her "opinion" was not warranted and it was more a perceived threat of "I'll be looking for you."
I had a ***** cop cite me once for parking half way up on a curb (soft shoulder sidewalk) out of force of habit from the city I lived in Germany where it was authorized and LEGAL. I tried to explain my inconvenient parking and he could care less. I took it to court and explained my circumstaces, professionally, and also included the entire conversation, as verbatim as possible....It was DISMISSED!

I walked out smiling.

The cop was a *****. All had he just let me explain, and he may have understood.

So, take your chances.....Go to court.

Funny thing is, this was for my SUV, not my Vette. I have NEVER got pulled over in my Vette yet, and it is loud and attention getting...But never had a problem in the Vette.
Even if the lady LEO said something inconsistent with department policy she'd likely deny it in court.

In my opinion, the LEO gave you a "fix it" ticket, and did nothing wrong. If you have the front plate on when you show up in court, the ticket will probably be dismissed, with 99% certainty. If you give the court the 'finger' by showing up, pleading "It was a new car and I didn't have time", and STILL have not corrected the issue, the ticket will likely stuck.

And NEVER give an officer sass. Your mouth to the LEO was a dumb mistake. Telling an officer to "Bring it." is like waving red at a bull. They sure as hell will. Over, and over, and over.

Regards.

I know the feeling. Pulled over twice in the same day on the same Hwy for no front plate in Minnesota. Both Hwy Patrols were decent, gave me a warning and said, get your front plate on.

I like the off-set bracket from ZIP, and you can remove it in 3 seconds:

24hr, 48hr and 72hr warnings are gone in ontario. No proper identification is automatically $110.

I just got pulled over on my bike. I just picked up my sticker for my plate. Sticker was in my wallet and got a $110.00 ticket for it not being on my plate. Cop told me no more warnings for stuff like this.

In Illinois, we have a front plate requirement, but 90% of Corvette owners do not install them. We are exposed to a ticket, but most owners take the chance.

I do have a Top Flight Reproductions front plate bracket that I may mount once the weather warms up. It allows the plate to be removed with a couple of easy-off nuts for shows, etc. Looks good, and I will leave the plate off for every day use.

I currently get more attention from police due to my Bloomington Gold license plate issued by IL. Since the plate was issued several days ago, I have been tailed by LEOs for two or three miles, I presume while they call the plate in to ID it.

Regards.

If the conversation is recorded, the cop profiled the OP when she said the Vette will keep getting pulled over. Profiling is not legal in many states (not sure about Toronto Ontario).

Bummer!! I am guessing having the front plate in the window drew attention to it. That sucks!

Had mine with no license plate for 2 months now. I have passed my share of police cars. I cringe every time though hoping they are distracted by the vehicle and not notice.

My hubby finally ordered removable, front plate brackets from Top Flight Reproductions for both his and mine. Just came today. Not thrilled about having to have a front plate but at least I can take it off when I want very easily.

I think I'd find another dealer, I bought mine in NY state, and the dealer asked if I wanted the front plate bracket mounted on the car (of course I said no), and put it in the hatch with all the normal paperwork. The majority of red light cams shoot the REAR plate on cars, and the EZPass gets its info from the transponder mounted in the vehicle.

Yup and get a standing reservation in that judges court cause you'll be there often and the fines just keep escalating. On the other hand we could fight to change the law so we don't feel like criminals. Remember the 55 MPH speed limit on the Interstates?

Screw it. Id just pay protection racket fees and run sans front plate. That's what I do with my window tint (40% is the limit here.)

I am gonna go fight the ticket asap.. i guess i am going to have to order a braket or something because a young guy like me (26) in a car like that in bright orange...ALWAYS attracts cops even tho i dont drive like a idiot..or blast the music.

the cop was actually driving the other way on the 4 lane road and just did the complete stare at me as she drove past me then i saw her brake lights come on and about a mile up the road i got the cherrys.

I assume they are just gonna find something else to pull me over for next.. i am thinking my tints or the famous" your licence plate light is out"

ive been pulled over 4 times for " no licence plate light" in my 06 cadillac sts and THERE IS A LIGHT!

they just use that as a excuse and then say "well the light is very low and i couldnt see it" just another bs excuse...

I am guessing that this is just the begining lol

...Protect and Serve ....NOT....Being a Police Officer use to be a honorable profession. My best friend is a Road Patrol/K9 Sheriff Deputy. As far as most of them is concerned, it is a "US AGAINST THEM MENTALITY" Some treat a minor traffic infraction the same a Bank Robbery. I know when they pull someone over they never know what they are walking into....but, a NO FRONT PLATE TICKET ON A NEW CAR.....Co'mon, give me a break.

In that case, I'd move for a continuance right before trial and let the cop reschedule for a future date. She'd feel the inconvenience. Most never showed up after the continuance.

Oops, I am driving an 81 TA with a Kentucky "19 81" license plate that I picked up at the Bowling Green Museum.

Thought it was pretty neat and wondered why the GM parts people didn't make the same for the other cars, figured not many would know it was for a corvette anyways.

I have my historical plate in the back seat though.
