On my 2005 I have to pull up on the parking brake handle hard before it will actually hold the car.

You could try re-tensioning the cables by cycling the parking brake level three times. To really adjust the parking brake you need to remove the wheels and rotors...and you'll need a special gauge tool. BTW neveroperate the parking brake lever with the rear disc brake rotor removed.

The parking brake is pretty easy to adjust at the wheels without any special tools. Turn the adjuster and use the fit of the rotor itself as a gauge.
If you only use the hand brake for parking, the shoes themselves will pretty much last forever.
The other day I picked up my daughter at work and drove around the block and she said MOM " the emergency brake is ON " . So what is going on here ? I think you have to pull up on it really hard. I NEVER just use E brake and get out for a minute. I always turn it off and leave it in gear also. Makes me too nervous. Wish it was more reliable. Sometimes I just need to get out for a minute or so but won't.
Just as I said in the title... When I park my car I pull up the E Break, but it will not hold even with the lightest pressure.. (example) if I pull the E Break on, and put it in drive it will pull or go forward with even the smallest amount of pressure on the gas.. ??
Is this normal... I pull HARD when I put on the E Break but it doesn't seem to hold very well...
Is it just an adjustment ??
Should be able to tell if is just adjustment. Sounds like someone
put it in drive and drove with the e-brake left on. If lever comes up tight and stops and it still doesn't hold the car
Mine only holds my C6 if I really pull up hard on the handle and squeeze the last bit out. I wish there was an in the cabin adjustment like on other cars.
Mine work fine. Never been an issue. I don't know why Corvette has used the present method for 30 -40 years. Most auto's use the disk pads as an emergency brakes.
