I've been smiling for almost three years after buying my '09. And by the way, the sight of it still takes my breath away. Take the time to read the owner's manual....repeatedly. It is the ultimate authority on things to know about your Vette.

You may stop noticing the smile after a couple of years. Happened to me, then I sold my Vette. People started telling me I looked depressed. Then spring came and I bought a new one. Smiling again.

Congrats on your new vette. 
After 35 years they still give me the same feelings you described so well. I really loved the part about your seeing your wife in the mirror. It's so great to have a spouse that is supportive of our being able to enjoy these wonderful cars. I've made similar trips home with a new vette with my wife as well. Thanks for sharing your joy.
