flaking trim tips?

1. I don't get the comment about paint on the pillars.
2. It's a 2007 that I've only had for 2 months. It had 1 owner who babied it, but I can't say where it was parked all the time...
3. I got it GM Certified. Would they replace the trim under it's 1 year? That seems like something they would laugh at, like asking for a paint job.
4. I just bought the big Aerospace 303 Protectant bottle and I am not impressed. I was hoping that with all the nods about it here that it would look like it ... actually did something... anything.
My trim still looks like a dried out husk (and flaky of course). I understand that it is supposed to protect against future sun damage, but I expected it to give a moisturized look like a petroleum product or Armor All.

It just cleans the surface and protects it without leaving a too-shiny, glossy, slippery, gooey surface behind.
If you wanted to try and restore your damaged trim, I'm not sure there's anything you can just apply. The surface is damaged and if you want it to look like new, you're probably going to have to replace it.
Then use the 303 to prevent similar damage in the future.
