flaking trim tips?
All the window trim is like this.
Any suggestions?
Also is there a way to take care of the rubber trim so it stays "healthy?"

I have the same issue. Great GM quality control.
I'm not aware of a 'fix'.
Anyone?

Best thing for rubber trim is silicone lubricant. NEVER use anything containing petroleum products...

It only happens on those vehicles that have the lavender trim option.

Will any ole' silicone lubricant do or is there a specific brand recommendation?

Any silicone spray lubricant works fine - I spray a rag with it and then wipedown whatever I'm wanting to clean and lube.

Aerospace 303 provides excellent protection against UV light.
I'm no expert on the subject but the pic looks like the kind of damage seen on other cars that are parked outside all the time.

My car is NOT parked outside very often...I'll stick with the quality comment.

None of the A-pillar on my '06 Coupe has any paint on it. Never has. Why does yours?

Our 2006 didn't experience this, neither has our current 2009; so I can't directly help.
However, someone previously posted that the flaking stuff is not supposed to be there at all, the solution is to remove it completely and leave the underlying material exposed like it should be.
Does that look practical, or was the previous poster misjudging the situation?

These trim pieces on my '08 are black, unpainted, with no peeling issues whatsoever. Did these pieces get painted on earlier models?

Great, our 09 is doing that and I will need to take it in before the 3 years are up and get it all replaced and then lube it or 303 that I use on the interior

Chevy replaced driver side under warranty on my 08 vert. There are several part #s for this because I had to go back to the dealer twice until they got them all ordered. The passenger side is OK.
