seems like the bare bones price is 399. at that price, imo it better work at least to the tune of the 40%-50% you say w. windows down. otherwise, again imo, it'd be a waste of money other than the good looks of having something scrawled on it, or some lights-fantastic display.
Got a real good price and free shipping. Lower then what you quoted. But, I've seen alot more expensive "mods" on the forum, I guess each to his own.
I wanted something for the highway speeds, didn't want to have to remove and store, like the OEM look and am happy with the purchase. Agree about anything connected to the name "Corvette" being expensive, but what one would consider a waste of money another thinks that's where they want their money on a "mod".

For $399 , i'll take the wind in my hair, thats why I bought a convertible in the first place
Sometimes (strike that)
ALWAYS
pays to keep the wife happy
Yes, the wife would possible prefer it to her hair blowing in the wind... I like to wear a baseball cap when I drive on cool nights/ hot days... Not having to put up the top/ holding onto my cap by the bib to keep it from being blown off when I drive on the highway is another good reason for buying it.
Can you post a couple pictures of the top view looking down and a picture that shows where and how it is installed? Thanks.[/QUOTE]
Maybe this will help... You'll need to pull back the carpet/ trunk partition, and with the supplied brackets, use existing holes to attach the brackets to the seat belt supports... They suggest removing the speaker connection, I didn't. Once the brackets are in, replace the carpet pieces, put in the Wind Restrictor(4 bolts/ 4 nuts) and you're done. 30-45 min install...
Although I love this setup I fell the ideal unit should still be able to be removed easily. I would not like to have this unit mounted all the time so it should be easily removable any time you want to.
I like having the windows down while topless driving. The car just doesn't look right with the windows up IMHO. So my question is is there any buffeting or increased noise from the unit when the top is down and the windows are also down at highway speeds? I would get this primarily for my wife who doesn't like her hair blown around and she makes me put the windows up

Thoughts?
That is a hard question to answer. It definitely is not like you have the top up with the windows closed!
What this does is reduce the buffering effect in the seating area significantly. It makes it quietier for sure. We can talk at highway speeds whereas we couldn't before. Things aren't blowing all over the place. You don't get the chill as much when it's cold.
I don't think it's meant to remove those effect's, but to reduce them. IMO, there is nothing that is going to take away from your hair being blown around or remove the buffering completely.
Lastly, everyone is different. What might work for me wouldn"t for you.

There are 4 screws/ 4 bolts to hold it in place... Without removing the brackets you could use the bolts and wing nuts if you'd like to quickly install/ remove it. The only thing I'd worry about would be because its hard plastic vs glass is getting scratches while handling/ storing it.

My question is, does it work? And if so, what is the difference (other than you can keep it installed all the time) between this and a Vette screen. The Vette screen seems higher , even behind the seats. So, I would think it would block the air more effectively.
Having owned both I think the difference is the permanent install/ not having to install/ remove it to raise/ lower the roof. It also doesn't have the thick frame around it which for me created sort of a blind spot when looking thru the rear view mirror. As far as blocking the air the WindRestrictor works as well or better because its made to fit lower between the seats and match the contour of the Waterfall, thus blocking more air. Like I said in an earlier post I like the Vette Net but this works better.
You can see in the above photo the the original Vette Net could block your view thru the rear view mirror.
