Default 24 Hours of Lemans

Clear a path to the man cave. Lay in the suds & chips & nuts. Take the batteries out of your phones. The Race begins at 9am (CDT) on Saturday. Corvette Racing has two C6 ZR1s (#73 & #74) entered with Beretta/Milner/Garcia and Gavin/Magnussen/Westbrook driving. There's also a French privateer C6 ZR1 entered.

They'll be up against eight Porsche 997s, six Ferarri 458s, four Ferarri 430s, two Lotus Evoras, two BMW M3 GTs, two Aston Martin Advantages, and one lone Ford GT.

Looks like a helluva field. Wish I were there.

My older son and I will be pulling the annual all-nighter watching it on SPEED channel. Hopefully no mistakes in the pits like last year...

In my opinion, the best race on the planet. Hopefully the Vettes have last years engine issues behind them, if not for both cars popping motors, they had the field covered last year. They've looked good so far this year, very easily could have won at Sebring, but the BMW's are very well sorted, and the Vettes are close. I'm thinking at LeMans their main competition will be Ferrari and Porsche though, and the battle in P1 should be great between Peugeot and Audi. I'll be watching a lot and DVR'ing the rest. Go Vette!

In preparation for the race, AMC showed "LeMans" last week with Steve McQueen.

Great race movie. And if you look hard, you can see a couple of C2s in the race.

The 24 hours of Le Mans is legendary....one of the great auto races of all time! A 24 hour endurance race boggles my mind...not just for the stress to the car but for the mental and physical demands on the drivers. The level of concentration and focus required is incredible. I recall some teams even bring hyperbaric chambers for their driver's to relax in between stints. Wishing the best to team Corvette!

There's likely some reason but I find it odd the Corvette Racing C6.R entries are referred to as "ZR1's."

I was lucky enough to be there for the 2007 race. It is a unique experience,, to say the least. We stayed in the Corvette corral, in tents.
It was a combination of Woodstock and a 24 hour race! What a crowd!
People from all over the world, partying and walking around, watching the race.
The sound the Corvettes made was sheer sex! Nothing like it, you could feel them coming.

I am not a fan of the ford gt but after meeting and talking to Robertson racing owner Dave Robertson I hope they do well,,maybe a 4th after a Vette sweep would be awesome,,,,,if you ever get a chance to talk to him,,,take it,,he is a real down to earth owner,,,,

This weekend’s famed 24 Hours of Le Mans race will have full coverage thanks to Speed TV and Corvette Racing. Though only 17 hours of live coverage will be done on television, Corvette Racing and Speed TV will be hosting an additional seven hours of content, including a live stream of in-car coverage from one of the Corvette Racing machines. The No. 73 Chevrolet Corvette will play host to the live stream as it seeks out its seventh class win at Le Mans.

As one of the most prestigious and demanding events in all of racing, the extensive online coverage will be commercial free and will also include links to an in-depth video tour of the legendary Le Mans circuit in the No. 74 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Undoubtedly though, the spotlight will be on drivers Olivier Beretta, Tommy Milner and Antonio Garcia as they try to get their seventh class win.

Speed TV Coverage - All Times Eastern

Saturday June 11
8:30am to 11:30am
3:30pm to 8:00pm
11:00pm to Midnight

Sunday June 12
Midnight to 9:30am

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will begin at 9:00 AM EST on Saturday. The live stream can be found at http://www.speedtv.com/corvette.

Speed HD is regular TV for me
Me too. I was referring to the ALMS races set up on espn 3 or 4 and having to jump through hoops to try and watch a CORVETTE race when it's actually racing, not a week or two later shortened version!

Default if you get a chance go to Lemans

I've been twice, rained twice. The experince is like nothing else, and this is from someone who lives in Atlanta, grew up in the Daytona area and went to Sebring as a day trip. From the atmosphere to listening to the national anthem in another country, which will give you goose bumps, to spending time in the Corvette coral full of cars tagged in France, UK, Germany and to me the funniest, Italian tags, can you imagine his neighbors? Go when you get a chance, you will never forget it.
