Default Quick measurement request

I'd like to know the size of the ash tray door and ideally how much room is behind it. I'm planning on mounting my BCT7 scanner in that area and want to know if and how well it will fit.

Scanner dimensions: 5-1/5" (W) x 6-15/16" (D) x 1-5/8" (H)

thanks,

The door measures 5.5" wide and 1.8" tall or 1 13/16" Depth I have no idea how far back it goes. Good luck!

thanks,
I didn't mount a scanner there but I did mount this. As I remember when I had things apart, you have the room for the depth of the scanner BUT the angle may bite you.

That is the control head of a Yaesu FT-8900 VHF/UHF Amateur Radio transceiver. The body of the radio is under the passenger seat.

I take it that is something to do with HAM radio? That's something I've been meaning to get into, but do not have the money or time to do so yet. When I do, I'm sure my father will get a big kick out of it. He was a USMC radio operator in Vietnam knows more about radios than I could ever hope to learn.
