Please chime in here if you think I am incorrect. Last year the 1LT had the basic seats. It appears in 12 the 2LT will also have the basic seats. As I recall those were Black only. It is beyond me how Chevrolet could enhance the 2LT by adding more items yet they went backwards in allowing only the basic standard 1LT seats. So for 12 if we want the Heritage Package or just the 2 tone seats we now have to go to the 3LT which is about $4000 more. I like what they did in enhancing the 2LT but for the Life of me I cant understand why they went back to the basic standard seats. If I am not thinking correctly here please point out where I have errored. Thanks...
You really can't understand why GM is making you spend more for two tone interior and/or the heritage package/ or Sport Seats?
Answer: GM wants you to spend more money, i.e., more profits, by forcing you to order the 3LT. Very obvious to me.
Here is my take on it...
The average age of the corvette buyer is around 50 to 60. To attract a younger buyer who will have less income offer some tech in the lower priced models. With the new seats for 2012 I think it a good trade off.
I went with the 1lt and knew all along I would have Steve install the HUD and replace the radio with a Nav unit from kenwood - however, if I had to do it now I would go with the 2lt.
However, I think they should not have raised the price on the 3lt by the full retail price of the nav..maybe an extra 300 or 400 - their cost.
Also, the person who posted about nav contract sales...could be right.

If you now have to go to a level 3Lt interior to get the sports bucket seats with power lumbar and side bolsters and perforated leather seat inserts, plus the availablity of optional two tone seats, and in exchange are getting a low tech Nav unit and Blose sound at the 2LT level, it seems to me to be a poorer value. But then again todays younger car buyers are more impressed by glitzy video/sound/navigation features than anything having to do with total performance, driver comfort or quality appointments, so GM obviusly feels this move will sell more Vettes, or at least the same number at higher profit margins, and they may well be right.

I get confused easily though
especially after a few adult bev.s
On the 2010 and or 2011 did the side air bags come standard on a 1LT Coupe?

Yes, side airbags were added as standard equipment in the 1LT starting in 2010
Let's see:...you get the HUD..nice option and has saved me uncountable tickets; you get the cheap seats..only in black; you get a better stereo ( who listens to music in their Vette??? duh, who can hear it all all with the roof off at 70 on the highway with their exhaust?); and you get the wonderful Nav system ( which if you spend a 100 bucks on a Garmin, Tom tom or Magellan which you can use in any of your vehicles and can update every year, duh) all for a small fee of $ 900 over what you had for the last 7 years.
This is one "stellar" move. Wonder who the dumass was that thought this move up? As they say, you can't beat stupid.
Whoever this was, they need to be in Congress where he'll fit right in.
