Graduation Present

Do you think she'll let me drive it?

My graduation was sponsored by Uncle Sam. Nice guy and all, he just didn't give nice presents, although he had the money at the time ........ just saying
I finished my engineering degree recently and my father helped me out in a similar manner. While he didn't buy me a car, he co-signed for the loan on my previous 2010 Camaro SS/RS and loaned me the downpayment required to buy my first home. The parental springboard into reality can do so much to help responsible kids get established. Two years later (today), I was able to sign the papers to purchase a 2011 C6 all on my own! Thanks dad!
...that is truly something I am sure she is very proud of! In my house it is not a question of if they are going to college.......it is a question of which one.If I had ten million dollars in the bank and any one of my three kids had graduated from Harvard on a full ride, I still would not purchase them anything close to this (Very nice by the way). I'm going to let them enjoy the pride of working for something and then finally being able to purchase it after some sacrifice. I'm old school I guess
Regards,
Scott

Scott, I am with you. Silly to hand children gifts like this. They need to learn the value of money, and what it takes to get money to buy new things. They should not be lead to believe that they have an entitlement for the better things in life. Rather, they need lessons in how the system works.
