Replacing them regularly is good. They do wear out from repeated use and sun exposure.
Make sure the window surface is clean and the cups are clean.
Breathe onto them immediately before you put them up. The moisture will help them seal better.

Use a little dishwashing liquid on the cups before you stick them on.

One of the first questions that I had in my thread was "why not just use the suction cup mount?"...

Actually, looking back, it was THE first question...LOL

I got a tip from another CF member. Today I re-mounted the suction cups using a dab of clear silicone on each one. I'll let it set up for a day or so before I slide the V! onto the "rails".
The cups can be removed using a razor blade to break the bond or seal created by the silicone.
Tube of silicone at big box auto store was about $7.

What I use a dash pad but real close to the windshield and it will stay in place.

I tuck mine under the moulding over the windshield to the left of the mirror. You can also tuck the excess cord in there.

Own two V1's, and never even thought of trusting the suction cup mounts. Both of mine are using some sort of visor mount, but does limit visor funtionality. Like the fact that way high up, out of sight from cops and thieves. Mirror mounts are opposite, and cause extra weight hanging on them. If liking suction mounts, probably just plan replacing them every couple years.

Get a Blendmount... It's only around a $100 which isn't anything once you have the product in your hands and see how easily and nice it installs, plus you can power it eier with the power cord or get the additional Dashtronix adapter and display it through your HUD or DIC or both... I have em both and LOVE IT, I can't think of having this stuff setup any other way!!!
