Have to ask, have you checked for proper functioning of the TPMS? If you don't have tire pressure sensors installed OR, they aren't properly programmed into the TPMS computer in the car OR, if a sensor is inoperative or even reading a low pressure, the system won't let you disable the nannies.
Let us know the status of everything.
The only other "easy" thing I can think of is the console switch isn't working for some reason. Since you just bought the car you obviously don't know what has been done to it. I recall one similar discussion, I suggested maybe the console had been removed at some point and the switch hadn't been reconnected......and that in fact was the case when the member checked it. In another case it turned out the switch was defective. After installing a new one everything worked correctly.
So, all I can offer is check the switch wiring and switch. If it isn't that simple it could be something with the computer or other part of the system. Maybe others will have ideas today. Please keep us updated.

Had that happen to me when I reinstalled the bezel. I had not properly reconnected the TC/AH switch. Pulled the bezel back up and pushed the connector on tightly and it has worked fine since.
