Well, don't forget that Mapquest and Yahoo have massive computer servers at the whim of the online person requesting data. Our NAV has only the dvd data disc inside the car. Yes, the software could have been written better but our NAV has a lot more capability. Yeah, we don't have everything they have but they don't have everything we have either.

Maybe if the 'Vette Nav removed some of the junk from the DVD there would be more room for navigation? Who really needs to know how many restaurants are within xxmiles? Or how many gas stations? Or where the nearest whatever is.
The Advertizers are paying the Nav Co. We are paying the Nav Co. to supply us with the advertizing the Nav Co is paid to supply. They get paid by both supplier and user.
It's been my experience that folks who whine about the stock Nav system haven't taken the time to learn to use it properly.
Sure, there is a definite learning curve and I will agree that the Garmin is more intuitive (have a Garmin-based Kenwood unit in my C5Z) but the unit in my C6 works just fine once I learned to use it.
(and I do like the integration with the HUD)
Now, as to the OP's question, could you clarify what "put in an address it sometimes it won't let me add one" means? What happens when you try?
If a person has any smarts at all, a little time learning this NAV will make it useful. You must learn it though....seems that is too much to ask for a few on here, so goes the bashing of the NAV, again. I use 4 different NAV systems including one for aviation and the stock one in the Vette is NOT the worst one of the four. I actually like it the best.

Actually, I think many of us like having the POI info. I know that I do.
I have a 2005 Z51, with the navigation system. when go to the Navigation to put in an address it sometimes it won't let me add one of course I'm sitting still in park with the car running waiting for the next step. How ever I can go to the recent locations and pick where I have been.
"Help"
There is a switch in the shifter, I believe, that needs to be made for the nav to enter the stopped mode. Try wiggiling the shifter or putting it into park again and see if that helps.
Just my opinion but I hate my factory nav. I know how to use it that's beside the point. What ticks me off more is gm dealers. I have an 05 and I am the second owner. There was an update to the software in the nav and radio, not the nav update but a software update. I can't play mp3 cds even though the option calls for it. Plus I get a lot of static on stations I never get static in any other of my vehicles. I am completely disappointed in it.

On our 2006 and now 2009 (both A6), merely being stopped, in any gear, allows full acceses on the Nav. Apparantly, it uses a speed sensor instead of a gear indicator.
