I don't mind driving in 90+ weather with the top down, if you're cruising. It's tough in stop and go traffic. Turn on A/C to max. and aim it at your face.
MN is a nice place to live in some respects. Weather is not one of them.
If we get two months worth of nice days per year it's a good year. The rest of the time is not very conducive to driving corvettes.
Why suffer? If it's too hot put the top on and run the a/c. Save the topless runs for early morning or after sunset.

If it's 108 (and you have the top off) you better be moving fast.
I don't think we broke 100 in Tucson yesterday but the humidity is ratcheting up with the summer monsoons. At least we got some great thunderstorms last night to cool things down.
It's 98 degrees and the dew point is over 80 degrees in MN this week. Unless the sun is down we don't even take the Vette out with the top out. How hot is too hot for you to enjoy a ride with the top out or down. First it's too cold, now its like an oven outside.
99 with 79% humidity for a heat index of 112 yesterday in Sioux Falls. Took the vette out (with Top Down) last night about 8:00 PM and it was still 90 degree with high humidity with a heat index of abut 100.
I still enjoyed my ride even with the heat. I will say it was the first time EVER owning my vette however that I did run the AC with the top down.
No matter the temperature, it's always a joy to take the car out.
This past Sunday it was in the 90's on Long Island. I entered a car show on a paved lot stayed from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM let me tell you the heat coming of the pavement was terrible. I already bought umbrellas to attach to the chairs for the next outing. The good news was my son took 2nd place I took third.
I know it seems funny to hear us from MN complaining about the heat, but this is ridiculous!
Like we always like to say, it's not the heat, it's the humidity! They are comparing our temps and humidity to the RAIN FOREST in South America. I'll bet you that there is no chance that THEY will have sub zero conditions and feet of snow, even for a few days. We certainly live in a very unique area. We get it all.
I generally dont drive anything in 90+ degree weather. But I will use the Vette if necessary and run the A/C with the top on. In 80 degree weather, I'm probably running the A/C with the top off (hey dont knock it, until you try it). If its 60-80.. top off and enjoying the weather.
You guys are killing me as I love hot summer days. We'll be lucky if we even make it to 75 this summer. It's pretty much cloudy, drizzle here and there and in the upper sixties as usual.
Spoiled here in Cali...top down or window open weather most of the year...although a few weeks where the A/C is cranking and I'm just cruising. Usually wait until evening when it cools down a bit anyhow.

And why do you continue to live there?
I lived in the Minneapolis area for 39 years and left in 82 and never have even back once since then. I got so sick of fighting the mosquitoes and the weather and then only having around two weeks a year of really nice weather, not to even mention the high taxes. Believe me with the humidity factor up there the summers heat indexes are actually higher and far more uncomfortable than they are here in Tucson.
I now enjoy 350 days of sun a year and can go 2-3 months at a time with never once putting the top up and enjoy the Vettes all year around.
Thought this was interesting, and tends to show that it's often worse in other locals.
During ARCA race at Iowa Speedway, heat index reached 126 degrees. On Monday, heat index reached 131 in Newton, IA, the home of Iowa Speedway. This make Newton, IA the hottest city in USA according to NOAA in term of heat index. Yesterday, heat index again reached 131 at the track but lost the title of hottest city to small town in Minnesota, which reported the heat index of 134.
