Re: (scorp508)
Reminds me of a Mercedes.
I was thinking the same thing. A Mercedes with a low polygon count. Cadillac is doing their part to make the design of future driving video games a snap.
Funny how they're disguising the hose and tail after undisguised car show photos have already made all the mags. You can still see a shadow of that same bent-over taillamp design underneath the matte black. The shape defined by the disguise is much more conservative, and I think much more attractive. Could Cadillac be learning that they're gone just a tad too far with their angry origami designs? Nah.
Serious body roll there, I think "sports car" should be changed to "luxury grand touring roadster."
Anyone think, with the odd position of the exhaust (will not be on the XLR center mounted), we could be looking at the first C-6 powertrain sighting???
'' General Motors has more plans for the Bowling Green plant, plans involving considerably more than bands, bunting and balloons. Jane Bowlin says the factory is being readied to turn out the Cadillac XLR, a luxury two-seat roadster. The XLR will be based on the ?Evoq? concept vehicle unveiled in 1999. The Evoq stopped traffic at auto shows with a supercharged V8 engine, a retractable hardtop and such advanced technologies as Night Vision and video monitors instead of rear-view mirrors. Bowlin says more than 125 new employees will be added to the workforce when XLR production starts in late 2002.''
