Default Something Strange on my Headlight - HELP

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help......

I was washing the car today, and noticed this horrible spot on my drivers headlight. No fing clue how it got there. It is on the exterior of the light but is into the plastic. I am hoping this will buff out.

Do you know how this happens? I have not used anything strange on the car at all. If it doesn't buff out, I am looking at buying a new light I'm sure. I doubt just the lens can be replaced.

Pray that it is under warranty ... or it's gonna be $600 minimum, plus you have to take off most of the front fascia, no fun, sorry ...

It's not under warranty. It's an '05.

I would like to know how it got there.

This blows...

I am going to try and buff it out. If that doesn't work I will buy a new lens.

You won't buff it out because it's a coating that has worn through. You may be able to buff off the rest of the coating but not sure how long the lens will last.

Depending on the clear used you'd be extending the life of the lens by about a year, maybe...

You must use a clear though after sanding and polishing otherwise the surface with look bad real quick.
